Makes Taxes Easy; Checks for Audit Risk

Have used Turbo Tax for ten years now. Really appreciate the latest tax laws being downloaded, so you can file with confidence.
Also calculates your best tax options automatically, so you don't have to.
Checks for completeness, performs an audit risk, saves returns as PDFs, and offers Tax Audit Insurance, so that if the IRS decides to audit, you don't have to go thru that alone.

As our government has made doing your own taxes manually nearly impossible, turbotax makes it bearable.
What's great about it: makes way too complicated tax code a little easier

Needs some revision

The K-1 entry section needs some serious attention so you don't get stuck in an error message for a non-issue.
Turbotax needs to be fixed to ask you for your IRS PIN before you hit efile (or at any time would be fine.....it never asks)
What's not so great: Didn't ask for my PIN; error messages got me stuck in an endless loop

great software and appreciate the double checks and the questions - wonderful product!
What's great about it: clear helpful ways to either go on your own or follow easy steps
What's not so great: can't print out individual pages

Overall A Good Experience

I have used a paid preparer for years. This year I decided to try and do it myself using TurboTax software. Before I made the jump, I purchased a copy of last years product and entered information from my tax forms from last year. When I came within like a $20 total difference in AGI and estimated tax, I decided to proceed with this years tax filing using TurboTax.
The biggest challenge I found was my tax preparer does not provide copies of all the forms and schedules that are filed, but for many of them summaries, that do not specifically reference a given line number. So, for this first year, trying to figure out where to place information in some cases, was a bit of a challenge. I think next year, this will be a lot easier.
What's great about it: The program flowed well.
What's not so great: Sometimes trying to figure out where to place information from a prior year tax return was a challenge.

Premier version for Rental Property

If you are like me and prepare your notes the same way each year, filing is a breeze. However, there ae some categories where the software is missing a More Info link that I thought was there last year. Having said that, I had little trouble adding in the relevant expense as the Community Q&A was very helpful for my questions.
What's great about it: Ease of transferring from last years filing
What's not so great: In a few cases, it is unclear where to enter some expenses claimed last year

Gets easier every year

Easy to use, some things kept spitting out an error despite the fact that I entered as instructed eg Tax-Exempt funds
