TTAX2015 better for my return than HR Block 2014.

FYI - I ultimately download TTAX 2015 Premier desktop since I need to prepare tax forms for two filers. However TTAX Online is actually the best version if it meets your needs. Bugs are fixed first in the Online version. I know, as I usually start estimating my taxes in December using the free Online version before making my final estimated tax payment in January.
Like many other long time TTAX users, in 2014 I switched to HR Block 2014 because TTAX began requiring me to purchase TTAX Premier instead of Deluxe for the 1st time. By the time TTAX backed off, I'd already finished my taxes with HR Block 2014.
OK HR Block 2014 was cheaper.
But after buying HR BLOCK 2014 and completing my return, I discovered I couldn't e-file my Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets) because I had more than 2 foreign accounts. Despite purchasing the version of HR Block 2014 that includes Federal e-file, I was forced to file on paper anyway.
In addition HR Block 2014 imported very little from my TTAX 2013 return - name, address, SSN, etc. but zero tax details, accounts, etc. I had to re-enter lots of data that TTAX remembers from the previous year.
Bottom line - I returned to TTAX Premier 2015 desktop this year and will never look back.
What's great about it: TTAX enables e-filing Form 8938 with multiple foreign accounts.
What's not so great: TTAX can't import my W-2 or MRD data for 401Ks. TTAXcan't e-file an Extension request.

hit a bug(?)

I imported my last year turbo tax return. There is no change to my employer on W2. When I e-file it, an error msg pops up: "Employer ID is invalid for electronic filing. You must enter a valid employer identification number". And it prevents the e-filing. I Google this error msg. Saw it's resolved by TurboTax help spotting a leading space in EID that is also my case. Places to improve: - is space char added in importing? - leading and trailing space could be ignored - error msg is not clear. It suggests more that EID value is wrong instead format.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. I am a clergy person, and as such I have to, and get to, follow special rules. Turbo Tax has had these covered since the beginning of our relationship.
What's great about it: I don't worry about missing an important part of the tax return. TT has it all covered.
What's not so great: I honestly do not know of any "cons>"

No complaints, just recommend a question for "did you receive an inheritance". This would have helped me sort through receiving savings bonds and CD's as part of an inheritance.
What's great about it: Easy, good tutorials
What's not so great: Need a section for inheritance
