Good experience overall

This is my second review. I gave an excellent, 5 star rating, after preparing and efiling my federal return. Due to special circumstances with my state returns, I must submit them by mail. But when I went back to do this, I could now find them. I am using the desktop software. When I sought assistance through the help center, I only found instructions for the online program. I spent at least 20 minutes, until I accidentally found my way there. This MUST be made clearer.
Otherwise, I had an excellent experience with Turbo Tax. Of course, I have been an accountant, so I am biased.
What's great about it: Great
What's not so great: I was told I could not e-file my state returns and then could not find how to print them.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Always a few issues

Looses track of some answers when you go back to clean up rental property and charitable donation information. Get tired of checking the same boxes over and over. For options trading it doesn't seem to handle everything all the time and for sales of small, left stocks from dividends it also has problems. K-1 can be tricky to get right as well even when entering exactly as on the form it assumes some lines should have information that are blank on the K-1.
What's great about it: Does well with a very complex return
What's not so great: Has problems with some investments even when autodownloaded
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Relied on for Decades

I've relied on TurboTax since it's earliest days, and it just keeps making it easier for me to file my taxes. I love that it guides me through everything, with questions that help me understand whether I need to concern myself with a given area or move on. I can't imagine filing my taxes the old fashioned way, but I'm just a middle class parent and homeowner, I don't need to be paying an accountant either. TurboTax is a wonderful solution for me!
P.S. I nearly said perfect, but I'm sure the Intuit folks can find a way to make it even better that I haven't thought of yet. It wouldn't be the first time!
What's great about it: Easy, keeps me from missing things and making mistakes.
What's not so great: None that I know of

Frustrating

Seems like your program always has trouble handling what should be a straight forward tax situation that millions Americans have- Company Stock Purchase Plans.
I buy "PREMIER" because it advertises "Employee Stock Plans" on the cover, but I always wind up digging through help screens and IRS publications to figure out what I pay you to do, step me through it. In this case, an NSO plan exercise of options that my employer reported on my W2, but the 1099-B question session should have picked that up.
Also- that state efile charge alway feels like a dig, especially after all the hours I spent figuring out the W2/1099-B double-charge. There was a major $ difference for me, so I dug until I found it, but I would bet that there will be 1000s of Turbo Tax users this year who exercise smaller options same day sales that overpay taxes because they don't notice the double-charge.
What's great about it: Like the guided tour.
What's not so great: Always have trouble with your stock portion of income, and e-file state charge sneak attack.
