Good step by step process to enter data.
Suggested improvements
- allow user to see how tax forms look through the process
- enable duplex printing (ensures that double sided forms are not split across two sheets)

Improvement possible

We have rental property, so chose Premier. Even though we've been with TurboTax Premier for several years, we end up having to manually go in to the rental expense area.
Also, I moved last year, and it offered no assistance for splitting the income between states: Basically, by default it just dumps the entire income on the first state you're set to file with.
PDF output for long term storage is appreciated.
Deductions for small donated items is very well done.
What's great about it: Decent user interface, easy navigation, pdf output
What's not so great: When it screws up, it can be monotonous to correct. No help on splitting income between states

DID NOT GET MY FREE STATE E-FILE!!!! SUX

I've been using Turbo Tax for my file and my kids forever...but somehow this year's program
- NOT user friendly. Unable to navigate through the program like I could other years.
- Do NOT like how the state and federal taxes are tied together for submission when I like to submit at different times.
- Program fixes navigated me to wrong area.
- UNABLE to e-file State for Free!!

State Tax Ripoff!

Last year I could complete a second state to see if I wanted to file or not. This year I had to pay first!! Ends up, after paying and completing the second state, I owe nothing and no refund is due. I saw this last year and did not file that state and did not have to pay TurboTax for it.

First time user. It worked!

I was pleasantly surprised with this years Turbo Tax Premier. I tried it maybe 10 years ago and got so frustrated I gave up on it. Perhaps it was just me then but I found the current software easy to go through. Next year will be much easier for me because now I know where the numbers are coming from. I had to know the exact calculations and didn't catch on for a while that you could stop and look at paper pages. It is so easy to download various information from financial institutions.
What's great about it: Accessd previous non Turbo Tax PDF file from 2014 return
What's not so great: Took me a while to figure out how some numbers were calculate
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Amazingly FAST!

Was able to complete the Federal & State returns for my husband and I within less than 1 hour (and we have interest and dividend income). The import of W2s greatly simplified the process and was so glad to be able to eFile!
What's great about it: Great to have the recommendation for the optimal refund and type of filing as a married person
What's not so great: Paying for e-File of State Return - seriously?
