The city of Grand Rapids return didn't allow for my spouse's and my situation.
What's great about it: Walked me through most things without a hitch
What's not so great: Some multiple choice questions did not offer an option that fit my case

TurboTax 2015 for Macintosh

Our Social Security worksheet blanked out the ability to enter Spouse's SS income. It also blanked out the ability to enter the Medicare Part B for both myself and the Spouse.
I started three different returns in trying to resolve the problem, including downloading last year's file from the Intuit cloud.
My workaround was to add spouse's SS income to my SS income block, and entered the Medicare Part B contributions in the Part C blocks.

What's great about it: Transfer from history and info from last year's return

Always pleased with TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for many years. Used H&R Block only once to compare. I came back to TurboTax. In the past I've had just a small problem locating a specialized income category. This year TurboTax asked questions and I didn't have to go through all the categories (many of which don't apply to me). I like this very much. I can't see that I'll ever use another product. I like TurboTax.
What's great about it: Always can go back and change data with instant update
What's not so great: This year there weren't any cons. I did have trouble with my Apple computer. figuring out where my files were.

Generally good

Turbotax is generally our go to, even with more complicated tax situation. However, this is the first year we paid the AMT, and the AMT section could really use some work. It doesn't give much information on WHY we have to pay AMT, and some screens about adjustments have NO help links whatsoever. It did not make for an easy time of it. I get Turbotax to be a one stop shop. I don't like having to go find what should be easy answers elsewhere.
What's great about it: Easy to use in general
What's not so great: some screens don't have help tip or explanations
