TurboTax still works

The cost of Turbo Tax is minuscule compared to filing services or CPA, if you have a routine return. Complex returns still require the professionals.
I've used Turbo Tax since its release, so obviously our return is not complex.
Keep great, not good, records - use Quicken, even if/when the phase out begins after version 2016.
What's great about it: easy to use & review what you've filed
What's not so great: I still have to pay more than I'd like to pay
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Before filing state tax, I could not find the form (IT 2105.9) on my computer. I had to go through the printed return to find the omission.
What's not so great: Finding a form - NY

Overall, a good, well-guided process. However, filing a state return for tax owed is a little confusing.
What's great about it: Good guide-through
What's not so great: E-filing can be a little confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: Easy to use - looked for all deductions - made sure they were correct - let me know if I was at risk for audit
What's not so great: None that I know of

Problem
on April 16, 2016

Form 1099R needed information in Box 14A. Every time I tried to enter the requested amount it took me back to the previous page. Finally I went to the original for and copied the amount from line 1, I could paste it in 14A and everything worked fine.
I am sure I will go through this pain again next year.
What's great about it: Everything Until it Wouldn't Let me Make The Last Correction
What's not so great: Couldn't enter the information requested

This year's TurboTax got me through the return process with enough time and money to spare.
What's great about it: Minimized a day long struggle into an hour.
What's not so great: Navigating tax forms that didn't even exist the year prior.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
