Improvement Needed

It took a 1/2 hour to pay for the electronic filing of the state tax. Process should be improved. Too many ads/sales approaches at end of tax process when trying to pay for electronic filing.
What's great about it: Carry-over from the previous year.
What's not so great: Real Estate workpages and payment process need improving.

2015 taxes

Paying to file a state return is unjustified. Having to buy the premier edition just to do simple investments makes it too costly compared to alternatives. Too many of the questions require you to know what you're doing. Too easy to make mistakes. The updater hung up and needed to update manually. This is the last year I use Turbotax. Nickname needed to be 4 characters - really?
What's great about it: Import data, familiarity due to using in the past
What's not so great: Cost to file state, knowledge required, updater didn't work

TurboTax works but is mediocre overall

I'm an accountant. I use TurboTax because it's seems to be a good software for organizing all the forms. However, there are times where the questions aren't the clearest and you either need to trust that you've answered the questions right or need to dig through the forms manually to make sure the data was loaded correctly.
Overall, I think lack of good competition has made Intuit lazy in terms of improving both TurboTax and Quicken.
What's great about it: Software works, could validate most of it's calculations
What's not so great: Lacks transparency/doesn't explain calculations well

Over all, easy to use and file taxes, have been using for quite a few years.
What's great about it: Most easy to follow & answer
What's not so great: Sold house, some questions weren't clear
