I have used Turbo Tax to file my returns for years and I love the system. I have never had a problem of a question from the IRS (except for an item that I failed to include). However, this year I found that the system was a bit more complicated to follow. Some of the instructions and explanations were a little hard to follow. They were generally with new tax law changes i.e. rental property reporting.
All in all it was okay and I will continue to use the product.
What's great about it: The system is very good and I have been using it for years. Love it and won't go any other way
What's not so great: I found this year's filing a slightly more difficult to complete.

What's great about it: Simple, clear, and easy to file with TurboTax
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Foreign tax credit:
Program cannot handle passive income from more than one source country per 1099-DIV or 1099-INT, and requires preparer to force entries which precludes electronic filing.
Imputed Interest:
Imputed interest on installment sales and purchases is not clearly delineated in program, and does not provide calculation ability to determine imputed amounts. Would be simple to add this feature and add proper support verbiage.
Early purchase:
When purchased very early in tax season, huge updates/upgrades are necessary when computer is rebooted. Seems to be a problem in maintaining certain upgrades on a permanent basis

Turbo Tax makes it easier

As complicated as the tax codes are, turbo tax has found a way to make it understandable and un-complicate the process.I has used Turbo tax for 3 years now and its sure better than paying someone else hundreds of dollars to file for me. Thanks Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Complicated tax code made easier with Turbo Tax
What's not so great: Filing State should be free as well.

Very Good But...

Very good overall, but the program hung up a couple time leaving me wondering if my latest input had been saved. Also when going back to review a section that I had completed, the questions that I had previously answered had to be re-answered which is irritating and a waste of time.
What's great about it: Made my complicated capital gains and rental property tax input pretty straightforward.
What's not so great: Program hung up a couple times.

Active Contact With TurboTax Support

In my estimation, TurboTax continues to be the premier provider of tax preparation software.
Having had to make multiple telephone calls to TurboTax Customer Service due to first software and then tax matters, while on balance the assistance was highly professional, patient, courteous and informative, it was disconcerting to find some of my contacts marked by staff who seemingly were unfamiliar with the situations being broached, were flustered and unfortunately either provided inadequate or inaccurate assistance.
What's great about it: Experienced personnel with extensive knowledge and excellent customer service skills
What's not so great: In the course of multiple calls, I was disconnected once and given inaccurate information on another occasion.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
