Love it, except for 1 thing...

I think filing my taxes this year was probably one of the easiest filings I've ever done. That is in spite of the fact that my taxes got WAY more complicated.
The fact that you can use It's Deductible online (https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/itsdeductible/) to track all your charitable donations and the fact that you can download your personal tax information from financial institutions made entering information effortless!
The only bone I have to pick with Intuit is the fact that they don't make it easy to find out how much you will have to pay to eFile your state income tax before you buy TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Love the automated features
What's not so great: Hard to figure out hidden charges (State eFiling fee)

Turbo Tax is easy, complete and safe. It asks every question an accountant would-but has even more personality than some I've worked with.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process

One little gripe.

I estimated the amount I contributed to my HSA. I entered the actual amount and clicked un-estimate in the review. When I went to file it still popped up as an estimate. I had to go back to preparing the return to remove the estimate so I could file.
What's great about it: Great to have the prompts and reviews from previous years.
What's not so great: Couldn't un-estimate from review.

Foreign Tax credits need improvement
on April 15, 2016

I download my investments from my broker. I have foreign tax credits from multiple countries. To make this work I have to change the foreign tax credit reported on the downloaded dividend information to show the foreign tax credit information of only one country and then create dummy 1099-div for each other country. Found out how to do this several years ago on a Google search and have been doing it each year since. Turbo Tax needs to find a way to let us do this through their normal Q & A format.
Everything else is great and easy to use.
What's great about it: Simple, straightforward to use, especially if you've been using it for a long time like me
What's not so great: Need to make handling of foreign tax credits if you have multiple countries easier

2015 TurboTax filing
on April 15, 2016

Some ot the workflow going from fed to state prep and then to filing is byzantine. When I changed my mind from efiling both fed and state to only doing efile for fed, TurboTax didn't seem to be able to handle that. Plus it was the first time I saw that there was an additional charge to EFILE the state form that I thought that is what the Premium package did. There didn't seem to be the right button to push to do so. I searched the help function and at least learned I could submit the printed state forms. I did just that ... submitting the printed copies from the menu. You need to work on the logic flow when that happens.
What's great about it: Love that it does all the math and has all the latest forms
What's not so great: Don't like paying extra to efile the state form. Only learned this when starting efile. Ended up submitting by mail.

I will use again and find it easy house. What I find difficult to determine where the information goes and where it is entered on the tax forms.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use and complete
What's not so great: A site map of were the information goes and where it is entered on the tax forms.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
