Review at End Not Good

The review at the end asked questions for which there were no answers. It would not e-file unless I asked those non-sensical questions. Basically, it said, "If you don't answer these questions, then you can mail your return; we will not e-file for you." I was a happy camper up to then. Not a happy camper any more.

Frustration....

I really like the ease of turbo tax. It is frustrating though to have to pay for the state filing option then when you go to file you have to pay more money. If you are getting the state in the first place obviously you need to file in that state. I can pay someone else half of what this costs to file electronically. Should all be on the box about state filings if it is going to cost extra $$$$

What's not so great: Everytime I needed a state had to pay more money

makes it wonderfully easy

makes it really easy when you have small or large amounts of deductions & etc.. don't have to be a certified tax rep to process your return...makes it easier when you have a lot of items & don't want to pay a fortune to have somebody do the taxes for you.
What's great about it: provides hyper link for help
What's not so great: when multi items like contributions..too much scrolling back to bottom of page

Went smoothly

Data entry was easy. No difficulties encountered. If I could script or spreadsheet expenses on a daily or weekly basis and submit script to tax calculation program to get idea of tax situation for year, that would be nice.
What's great about it: Straight forward

Won't be using turbo tax next year because of cost of software plus filing fee plus wire fee.

Great Easy Way to File

Great easy way to file taxes. Complete and worry free. The questions are simple, yet thorough. Great value!
What's great about it: simple, complete, easy to follow, takes away worries of missing items and great value

after calculating total cost to perform my own tax returns it's obviously much more cost effective to have someone else prepare it.
What's great about it: fairly easy although there were some issues

Turbo tax works

Two upgrades:
1. Short and Long term capital gains: Make it easier to switch data already entered between cost basis reported to the IRS and cost basis not reported to the IRS. I looked for hints on-line, but it did not work.
2. Children claimed as dependents who have to file their own tax return: Make a worksheet to print and enter info between parents and children/sibling returns. What a pain to have to go back and forth between returns to get all the info.
