Very Good But a Few Challenges

Tax preparation is always a tedious process but the Turbo Tax interview process generally makes it fairly easy. The difference in terms used on 1099s vs the software is sometimes a challenge. If you have a complicated tax situation, you must have a reasonable grasp of IRS rules and concepts.
What's great about it: Step by step gathering of information. Good review and correction process.
What's not so great: Terms are not always consistent between 1099s and Turbo Tax.

The inputs for K1s for partnerships should be clearer, and follow the format of the K1s more closely. In many places it prompts that inputs directly into the worksheets may be required. This makes it confusing.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use
What's not so great: K1s for partnerships cumbersome

Great product

This is my second year using turbo tax. I have really liked how it walks through every step and helps you get things done. We previously have used a family member, who has retired from doing taxes. It has been a smooth transition to doing our own taxes.

I experienced considerable confusion resulted from trying to figure out where to enter details for both mineral and publishing royalty payments, selecting, adding or removing forms to fix mis-steps, adding worksheets after changes, avoid double entries, enter deduction items to offset payments.
What's great about it: Readily accessible sections, instructions, printouts
What's not so great: Handling of 1099-Misc mineral royalty payments through broker and entering

Tax Time in No Time

What's great about it: Use it yearly, and it is a breeze
What's not so great: hmmmmm... my old laptop
