Didn't seem as straightforward as previous years

Good product as usual, but could have been more helpful: (1) I'd neglected to claim a credit for quarterly payments. It might have asked about that since I used the forms it generated last year. (2) It would be more intuitive to enter credits associated with investments together with the earnings in the income section rather than in credits and deductions. (3) I had a 1099-R with pension earnings which (god knows why) must be reported on Form 8938 as a foreign account. You should have told me that.
What's great about it: comprehensive, easy to use, carries over info from previous years' returns

Have used TT for many years and recommend it to others for ease of use. I receive a K1 and that section has really improved over the last few years

Great Savings using TurboTax

Have used TurboTax for years. Saves a tremendous amount of time by autofilling name, address, etc., and "remembers" other information from previous tax years.
Saved us over $2000 by recommending we do a traditional IRA. I wouldn't have even thought of an IRA since we are both retired and earning limited actual income from part-time jobs; however, TurboTax recommended it to the full extent allowed. This brought our bottom line due down over $2000!!!!
Way to go, TurboTax!

What's great about it: autofill from last tax season, easy to understand questions, covers income and deductions in a step-by-step fashion
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to premier for investments
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Thorough As Usual

TurboTax was thorough and complete as usual. I was able to pull everything together and get it completed without great difficulty. I did have some trouble with "multi-layer" forms with worksheets where I would have a number for a box on the main form and it wouldn't let me enter it directly -- forcing me to find the worksheet and complete it. But I got it done.
What's great about it: Helped me pull together a wide variety of info this year

Overall I have used TurboTax for over 10 years. I have only been challenged one year and it was my input error. The audit defense people helped me find the problem in 2 days. This year I accidently entered last year in the taxes due payment date. The software stopped and highlighted the date but the program did not remind me the year had to be at least the current year.
What's great about it: best version so far. more detail questions.
What's not so great: credit card payment and debit date will not work with last year date. It just highlights the date and stops.

LOST ONE STAR FOR STATE FILING

IVE USED TT FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND LOVE THE PROGRAM ==. WASTED WAY TO MUCH TIME TRYING TO PAY FILING FEE FOR STATE TAX RETTURN WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY.
What's great about it: LOVED THE PROGRAM
What's not so great: COULDNT USE CREDIT CARD FOR STATE FILING FEE. WASTED A LOT OF TIME. FINALLY SENT IT IN THE MAIL

Needs to improve

As you complete each segment instead of bringing you back the next question it starts at the beginning and you have to scroll down. Does not allow to mail Federal return even though it gives you the choice in the program. If you have to e-file your State then Intuit's program requires you to e-file the Federal. Did not fix this from last year either. There is not forecast option to use if you have known changes of "what If" things change for the upcoming tax year. This used to be provided. Always have problems changing estimated tax voucher amounts manually. I have to white out and put in my own numbers.
What's great about it: Fairly quick and provides guidace if you don't have problems
What's not so great: Not user friendly and program issues
