Wind up paying additional cost for purchases at a higher cost than buying a new tax program

What's not so great: You will pay extra HIGHER cost for purchases

What's great about it: pretty easy
What's not so great: pay extra for state filing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Incredibly Thorough and Easy!

This program connects last year's info with current year's data that in many instances can be downloaded from a very complete list of financial institutions.
I have used this for 15 years - initially checking my accountants work. After finding errors in his prepared returns for a very expensive fee, I went with TurboTax and haven't regretted my decision.
It's a great product!
What's great about it: Simply follow the guide for all the questions that need answers
What's not so great: Can't Find Any

Costly Error

Turbo tax review found no errors and transmission of my return to IRS showed OK. But IRS rejected my return because it imported my wife's social security number incorrectly.
What's great about it: Good step by step queries
What's not so great: Flawed import of data

I loved the ease of dealing with brokered accounts (used to take days to enter this information). The questions did not always line up with the information on my oil and gas royalty statements, took a little digging.
What's great about it: downloaded investment information from my broker
What's not so great: not always clear on oil royalty issues
