Relief

Really a good program. I had an easy time to accomplish this year's taxes as compared to previous years. Maybe I am becoming more savvy, but it flowed very well all the way through the process.
My biggest distraction (this while I was doing a potential tax situation to see if I changed my filing) was not being able to check tax tables for any income level, as I wondered how my taxes went up when I showed a smaller amount of income for a different filing status. Previous years did allow to view potentially different tax situations.
Still, this got me to what looks like a complete return with satisfactory results.
What's great about it: Easy steps to complete
What's not so great: No tax tables to look at my income

Tax prep with confidence

I am a retired fiance executive and former CPA. I have used Turbo Tax for years for my personal tax preparation, even in years when I had non standard income or expense items, schedule C activity and rental properties. In some cases I have actually done my own research in IRS publications and forms just to be sure I was not missing anything if there was an unusual circumstance. In every instance Turbo Tax provided the correct information. I have also used the Turbo Tax review and audit protection features. I have never had a return questioned at either the Federal or State level. .
What's great about it: Easy to follow step by step process.
What's not so great: Changes or adjustment of entries require extra care

Overall, I like it and will probably use it again next year.
What's great about it: I think it is thorough and I like that.
What's not so great: At the end when printing my Fed & Mn returns; why does it print two copies of the Federal Return. Don't need it.

Bad year for taxes ... but TurboTax got me through

It was a bad year for taxes this year. We had unexpected income which caused us to use more forms (to pay more taxes) than in the past. TurboTax guided me successfully through everything. I had to puzzle out some numbers ... but did so and everything looks good ... except for Uncle Sam's portion! C'est la vie!!!
What's great about it: Can step by step or go where I want
What's not so great: Major ... sitting at my computer for so long! Comes with doing it yourself.

Fix the bugs in the RSU entry process -- shares and price should not have to be manipulated for the calculations to be correct and to avoid negative cost basis that is inaccurate.
What's great about it: with automatic loading of W2 and 1099 information -- entry is easy
What's not so great: Buggy with RSU stock entry, cap gains, cost basis

Yippee Successfully Filed!

We have been using Turbo Tax for decades and love it. I appreciate the ease of switching from the Easy Step entry method to the Forms method. I have Schedule E rental properties, Schedule C self employment income, and student deductions. As an accountant, I have never found any errors with Turbo Tax. It is user friendly software created and supported by professionals. An exceptional product and great value.
What's great about it: Accurate, ease of use, great support in the rare case you need it

Need to be clearer on where to put income from foreign retirement plans. I did this wrong first and spent time to find a Federal Tax ID for the German Retirement agency. But then I called support and was advised to put the money in "Less common income - Miscellaneous income - other reportable income" There is no way anybody can know that!!!
