Great - just one problem
on April 13, 2016

All great, but one problem filing electronically.
We file jointly. In collecting information to verify identity you ask for last year's AGI for each of us. How do decide what to attribute to each? So, I gave the accurate figure for myself, and the same for my spouse. The return was rejected because my spouse's AGI was incorrect. Apparently, I should have said "0" for her after reporting all the AGI for myself. There should be some guidance at the point of entering this info so this error does not occur.
I went through the process of getting her a new pin and it worked.
What's great about it: Even better and smoother than years past
What's not so great: One confusion when filing electronically

Retirement Tax Help
on April 13, 2016
Posted by: Starbeck52
Because of my husband's and my retirement, this was the first year I had to deal with Social Security and IRA payments. I, also, had to deal with exercised stock options from my company. Turbo Tax was very helpful in leading me through all of these changes.
What's great about it: Can download brokerage information.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Last year I missed these altogether. This year I just typed my information onto the E work form. Deprecation is still a mystery and there is no help from Turbo Tax. Disappointed.
What's not so great: not enough guidance on expenses and depreciation
Pros: I moved

Making Tax season survivable
on April 13, 2016

TurboTax does a great job of not only producing my tax return, but in keeping records from year to year. Issues that I had comletely forgotten, becam solvable once I looked at my old return.
What's great about it: Loved the format. Helped me enter my data. System was user-friendly.
What's not so great: Would love to be able to pull up the form I had completed, especially Schedule D.

This customer did not provide a text review.
What's great about it: Gives options and alerts, quick "learn more" links, transfer from previous year, seems intuitive in many situations
What's not so great: Couldn't undo some decisions -- such as changing the name of a charity or deleting the worksheep for a custom donation
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Difficulty saving file
on April 13, 2016
Posted by: overitall
Had to enter all my tax info twice. It did not save and would not let me manually save the file and I lost all my work the first time. Very frustrating experience and very little tech support from Turbo Tax technical support
What's great about it: Easy to follow and input data. Thorough
What's not so great: Cannot save file in software

Less Pain, More Gain
on April 13, 2016

I like to control my own financial information reducing the need for third party accountants which get more expensive every year. Using Turbotax, I start shortly after November Turbotax purchase and do a little each week until final data arrives in March. Each year is an improvement. Thank You!
What's great about it: Help section cleared up sophisticated questions.
What's not so great: Would like last years tax information along side this years.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
