EASY AND FAST

I HAVE ENJOYED USING YOUR PRODUCT AND NOW HAVE SEVERAL PEOPLE FROM WORK USING IT AND THEY ALSO ENJOY HOW EASY IT REALLY IS

Great tool BUT......

Turbo Tax is easy to use, but for a user like me, I entered two different sales tax rates and this resulted in an error, which I could not find and fix.....until I called for support. It took us 3 hours and 15 minutes to find the error to delete second sales tax rate. Hence I am giving 4 stars.
Turbo Tax should block two or more local sales tax rates, if this will result in error to be fixed.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to use
What's not so great: Allows user to enter two different sales tax rates, which caused error message that was difficult to fix.

Have used TurboTax for more than 20 years for both personal and S Corp returns for Federal and state of PA. . In general the Federal processes have been easier to use than the PA state processes.....largely due to weird rules and forms used by PA for S corporations. Now that I am retired and my S Corp has been inactive for several years the personal returns went smoothly this year and I e-filed both Federal and State.
Wish that e-file for state were free like the Federal e-file.
Am an Advantage member and like knowing my TurboTax software will arrive in a timely fashion each year.

What's great about it: Improved interface to the Pennsylvania state return this year
What's not so great: A few spots in the dialogue were a little confusing but help resolved my question.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Nice job, but....

I have been using turbotax for over a decade. I generally find it easy to use. It does a good job for most situations I have, and it has a very understandable sequence that it wants information.
I have two pet peeves:
The first is that it often includes forms that were applicable in a prior year, but are not applicable to the current tax year. An example would be including foreign tax credit forms when I clearly indicated no foreign income/tax this year.
The second is non-resident state returns all want to know the percentage of income derived in that state. Turbotax does not provide a quick way to switch over to the W-2s, 1099s, Schedule D's, etc to figure that out. You have to navigate to the forms manually, and you lose whatever you previously typed in the process. There should be an easier way to handle this. Maybe asj while entering the info?
Overall, I really like it. And will continue to use it in the future.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Easy to switch modes, pretty good at downloading stuff
What's not so great: Sometimes includes too many forms

Refund 2015

Though easy to follow, the software sometimes left me wondering when I had to enter certain data (in my case an installment sale of property). Eventually, that entry opportunity came up, but it was confusing at first.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow
What's not so great: Updates changed my return

Taxes Simplified

If you want a simple solution for preparing your tax return, TurboTax is the only software I have found to make the whole process easy. The software is user friendly and can be used by anyone to prepare and efile their return.
What's great about it: Logical Order
What's not so great: Complexity of online payment process

Just Pluggin' along

I compare doing my taxes to going to the dentist. Turbo Tax is a bit like the novocaine or gas that the dentist uses---it eases the pain immeasurably. I have been a Turbo Tax customer for quite a few years and will continue to be one for the foreseeable future.
What's great about it: Love that you can download all your banking and investment info right into the program.
What's not so great: Why the steep charge for filing state taxes?

More confusing this year

I've been using TurboTax for more than 20 years. This was my second year filing as a married couple, and my first year filing after we receiving distributions. I'm not sure I needed to take as many steps as were requested -- I went through seven drafts before filing and I hope I got everything right!
What's great about it: Methodical
What's not so great: I got tangled by the order as presented
Pros: I bought or sold investments
