State taxes did not file and no support next year?
on April 13, 2016

Easy to use, but at the end of completion only my federal taxes were filed. No instructions were given on how to file my state taxes. Additionally, my Mac will not be supported next year so no Turbo Tax for me. Drat.
What's great about it: Federal Filed No Problem.
What's not so great: State Taxes Completed, but did not file.

Tax Filing, Simplified

Forced to purchase TurboTax Premier for "additional help with investment sales such as stocks, bonds, royalties, mutual funds and employee stock plans" which used to be included in the Deluxe version.
Not a deal breaker, but it's unfortunate to need to buy a more expensive product just to deal with investment sales, etc.
I can understand Premier being required for "extra guidance with rental property income, expenses and finances". But not for "additional help with investment sales."
Great Product!
What's great about it: Simple, easy-to-follow "interview" format
What's not so great: More expensive than past years

Overall, a great product !
What's great about it: The ability to import directly from my Brokerage saves me a lot of time.
What's not so great: The Import feature didn't seem to work for importing my 1099-INT from my banks

Makes taxes generally painless

I have used TurboTax (at home, not online) for many years and have found it to be really helpful, especially in the second year and beyond. TurboTax remembers much of what I entered last year, so if your tax situation doesn't change significantly, it is even easier next year.
It seems the process was around ESPPs (employee stock purchase plans) was harder this year than in the past, and I found it difficult to figure out how to enter the correct cost basis (amount I paid) for those transactions. I ended up needing to go to TurboTax's online help system and community forum to find the answer--something I've never had to do before in more than 10 years of using TurboTax. I'm not sure why that was changed in the software from previous years, but I didn't find it an improvement.
Lastly, it seems Intuit is getting greedier. I have pretty simple taxes, but I own a house and have a mortgage, so I do itemize my deductions and have needed the "Deluxe" version for years. Historically that version has been sufficient to also cover my stock sales. However, last year Intuit decided to make a change such that now you have to have the "Premium" version in order for it to handle stock sales. Really? That's such a complicated tax situation that I need to get the "Premium" version? It's disappointing that Intuit would make such a change.
What's great about it: It's a [fairly] simple way to do your taxes.
What's not so great: Tax laws are complicated, so some of TurboTax is also complicated and confusing.

The easiest way to file taxes

I have been using TurboTax for so many years that I don't recall how many now but each year it includes the new tax laws and asks me questions that help me decide if something is for me or not. I could not think of a con except that I had to buy the software initially then pay for my state taxes to get filed but other than that, you save SO MUCH money doing it yourself and its easy and quite the learning experience. I think many people just fear doing taxes since all the paperwork does seem overwhelming.
What's great about it: Simple and quick
What's not so great: NA

It makes tax preparation so easy!

I've been using Turbotax since 2005, and it really does make it easy to do. This was my first year to file electronically, however, and I'm curious as to how that experience will be. I remember the long hours I used to spend filling out forms, double checking everything - I don't know how I did it. US Taxes are insanely complicated now, but Turbortax really does smooth the way.
What's great about it: The sheer ease of it compared to manual preparation.
