I've been using Turbo Tax for many years, the last one is the easiest to use yet.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: I would like to be able to see the forms whenever I want. Turbo Tax use to provide a tab for that

Getting too complicated to use

I've used TurboTax for years. But now I'm reconsidering for the future. It's gotten too difficult to go thru the program and get any guidance. Every question directs out of the program and to the internet. Not easy. And the answers are not very clear.

Secret Cost - Despite Multiple Inquiries

I will never use this product again. despite multiple inquiries to confirm the correct products would be purchased, state returns were not included in the business software. e-file is not available for Turbo Tax Premier.
Both were confirmed by Intuit personnel prior to purchase. Unacceptable.
What's great about it: Carryover info pre-populating from year to year is helpful
What's not so great: Product info is vague on websites and not well supported by 'experts" handling cases

Good - but some flaws

TurboTax is a wonderful tool, but there are times when it seems to lack any knowledge of the next step in the process. It got me to pay for filing my state tax return, and then it immediately told me that was not possible. It never offered me a refund!!!
What's great about it: Great help with complex taxes
What's not so great: Charged me to file state return, then said it was not possible

Great

I have no idea why people with simple taxes would ever pay to have them done when there is software like this. I used the H & R Block software in 2014 (it was great, too) and I was happy that TurboTax just copied it right over. Except for the confusing identity theft business at the end (I was stumped until my husband told me he figured out it could be skipped while doing his father's taxes), this was easy to follow. Just great.
What's great about it: Easy, easy, easy
What's not so great: I was confused by the identity theft information request at the end--I thought I had to fill it out.

Arrrgh! Another year done

I've been a long time user of the software. Seems like I first used it it 1987 or 1988....but I could be wrong. In any case, I've used it forever and I have never had a problem - even with multi State filing in years when I moved between States.
If you have anything other than a straight forward return- I would recommend using TurboTax.
What's great about it: Step by step guidance for even the most complicated situations
What's not so great: Routine stress of filling out the forms for the govt.

Easy Does It

Other than K-1s, everything was pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Having our Federal return linked with our State return was awesome. Much better than last year (2014). Comparing amounts with previous year is especially nice. We're glad to have it done :-)
What's great about it: Downloads from Financial Institutions
What's not so great: Need K-1 direct downloads!!!!!!!!!!!!!
