Pesky bugs continue to detract from solid product

For ex: Filing for my deceased mother who died in Mar 2015. Program said this date wa an error since date of death was prior to Jan 1st. Obviously the program thinks the date of death was prior to 2015 or maybe this part of the program is using 2016 in the calculation. Either way, the program should not trigger an error for ANY date of death in 2015.
What's great about it: easy entry; logical interview concept
What's not so great: A few erroneous error alerts.

In a State of States!

Problem areas: Not obvious you MUST use the download version for some features. Paying state taxes when you don't reside in a state that has a state income tax is a taxing (and confusing) process.
What's great about it: Imports of W2s and Brokerage Statements
What's not so great: State income taxes when your primary state doesn't have state income taxes

i like the ease of use of this product and the ability to spit out the full paper version as well.
What's great about it: Ease of use and beats all the paper.
What's not so great: Accounting geeks love the paper

Tough to Pay TT

All was smooth sailing until I elected to e-file state return and couldn't get access to credit card online.

Acceptional Tax Software

I have ben using TurboTax for 8 years,
It makes doing taxes a lot less painful and I believe it captures tax savings I would otherwise miss

I would like to see the cost of efile reduced, it's electronic little added cost.

What's great about it: Ease of use, explanations, navigation
What's not so great: walks you some categories that should already be clear you don't qualify based on previously entered data

Good Bye

I've used turbo tax for many many years. Last year I thought it was time to use a different program. This year I'm done. It's time to try another program. When I have to double and triple check to make sure that my info was requested and input is troublesome enough but when I need to dig into the forms themselves after the help function wasn't helpful... it's time to try another program. Thankfully, Turbo Tax showed what I claimed last year so I could check that my inputs were working.
What's great about it: Similar platform as before
What's not so great: Needed to dig deep on my own to make sure everything is covered
