Having to continually get the same updates downloaded even if I close the file for a few minutes or shut down my computer.
What's not so great: having to go to downloading for updates

The download from investment companies was terrible -- couldn't see it, hard to know how to edit. The whole investment dialog section was a big step backward. Also the foreign investment tax credit was awful -- confusing and impossible to follow instructions and no visibility as to where the information went and how to edit it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved

you need to include estates and trusts in this product not in business software. Also write the darn trust software for apple please. I had to buy a PC to do my trust work. Thanks a lot. PC's stink!
What's great about it: easy to use for the most part.
What's not so great: pension plan impossible to work through on the K1
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Good, with room for improvement

Overall this is good tax prep software, but it could be GREAT with some changes.
On the upside, it has a friendly guided approach that makes doing your taxes much friendlier. It also saved me quite a bit of money one year when I had two jobs and they over-withheld FICA taxes. I never would have caught that myself.
Two disappointments: at one point it made me enter information from my prior year's return, which I had also filed with TurboTax--so it had the number, if it had only bothered to look.
Second, and more importantly, I imported all my financials from Fidelity, which included some stock sales, but TurboTax did NOT prompt me with a "Hey, we see some stock sales here; do you want to upgrade to Premiere to figure that all out?"
Instead, I was forced to figure out that I had some forms left over from those stock sales and upgrade myself. I would have been much happier if it had prompted me; I probably would have raved to people. As it is, I'm not raving.
Overall it's good software and you can't go far wrong if you get it. I just want to see them rock my world next time.
What's great about it: Guided questions, easy compare with last year
What's not so great: Doesn't take advantage of all the information it has
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have an investment that generates partnership interest, which, although small, requires me to use Premier software. Last year when I tried to use H&R Block, the software could not handle it, so I used Turbo Tax. This year I went straight back to Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Misleading advertising. Fed and State returns.

I have used TTax from day one. Misleading advertising and extra fees. And that doesn't include the changes from last year excluding investment sales from Deluxe now requiring you to buy Premier. I will go with a different provider next year.
What's great about it: step by step
What's not so great: Charges for filing state return and OH yes another charge for taking the fee out of your refund.
