I've used TurboTax for at least 10 years. Every time I used a paid preparer, they charged a lot more and quite often there was an error. I have NEVER been audited with TurboTax, although occasionally I'll get a notice from IRS, sometimes wanting a bit more money, but just as often refunding me some. The "import from last year" isn't perfect - for example, I used a car for business last year, but not this year. It left the car in there and didn't ask me about it until the error check, then I had to go in manually and delete it. The explanations on some of the less-common deductions or credits are unclear or lacking altogether. And quite a few New York forms #although thankfully not any I need# are "Not included", which means I would have to go get the form, fill it out, and finish my taxes manually AND print and file manually. What the heck???
What's great about it: It's pretty quick, and you can start and stop whenever it's convenient
What's not so great: Sometimes the software skips a question and you'll get a "needs review" flag.

Tries Hard but Makes Things Cumbersome

Didn't tell you that medical must be a percentage of AGI until it had asked you all the medical questions, like individual prescription costs to add up, parking fees, doctor's charges not covered by insurance, etc. Should have told that percentage before asking the questions so that section could be skipped.
Kept asking about use of car for business even when zero miles use was indicated. Over and over, because I had used a car for business in a previous year. Finally had to go to beginning and delete form.
Repeated questions already answered when reviewing sections so they had to be answered again.
LOVED THE SHOEBOX FEATURE OF YEARS AGO AND WISH IT WOULD RETURN.
No chance to review estimated tax calculation before it was turned in and no confirmation that this will be automatically deducted.

Got the unpleasant task done with minimal problems

Overall turbo tax is a great product. I would not be able to prepare our tax return without a software product like turbo tax. I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. Overall it has been a lifesaver. I have had a few issues with it especially when I have received error messages in the review section. The program tells you what is wrong but does not tell you how to solve the problem.
What's great about it: Able to prepare multiple state tax returns and Fed returns
What's not so great: Can only efile three state tax returns

Only one problem

Everything went well until time to file. Due to previous fraudulent activity we had IP PIN number issued and entering them was a bit confusing. I got mine in, but the program didn't appear to supply a place for my wife's and, as I read the instructions when I entered mine, I believed it indicated that only the main person on the return needed to use their number. The e-file was rejected, by which time I had already shredded my wife's IP PIN. Now it appears we will have to file by mail. This would be a much bigger issue for someone getting a significant refund
What's great about it: Easy to follow, clear and concise.
What's not so great: Difficult to enter IP PIN numbers

Best Tax Software!!

I have always done my own tax preparation and have been using Turbo Tax as long as I can remember (many, many years), I have never been disappointed with their ease, accuracy, and helpful information. As I have grown and my financial situation has become increasingly complicated, Turbo Tax always has a version that meets my every need. I have never had any errors or questions of any type. If there is one tax software program I can recommend to you, it is Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Over the years, continues to improve and get even better!
What's not so great: Nothing!

Super Easy

Turbo-Tax is super ez - just like the commercials. I hate doing taxes and now I can get it done with ease in just a couple of hours
What's great about it: Auto-populates all info so hand typing much of the data is not required
