Simple is better

Filing taxes is a stressful and tedious job.. TurboTax has made some improvements over the years, such as Its Deductible feature. However, it has removed some features in its less expensive (relative term) versions in an effort to migrate customers to more expensive offerings.
What's great about it: Good step-by-Step interview
What's not so great: When you check a source for a field, the link does not take you to the source field on another wks or form

Toppled my Taxes

Overall TurboTax is great. It is easy to use and understand. The review and correct process is slick. The audit risk review sets your mind at ease. Offering audit protection is wonderful. I have been using TurboTax for years - it makes tax time so much easier. Also, the support team was very helpful, considerate and professional when assisting with a critical issue. Thank you.
What's great about it: Ease of use, review, audit risk, support team are excellent.
What's not so great: Sometimes difficult to just return to a specific point to make adjustments.

Gets Better with Each Passing Year

I have learned to keep good tax records since they are essential for compliance with and minimizing tax liabilities under the ever changing IRS tax code. I felt my 2015 Form 1040 filing benefited significantly from the TurboTax Premier prompts that have become even more clear to the non-professional preparer with each passing year. Good records. Better prompts. Best results.
What's great about it: Helps navigate those occasional "not normal" situations that those of us who have moderately complex returns encounter.
What's not so great: Had a difficult time filing a 2014 Form 1040X after receiving a post-filing corrected K-1 form.

Close to great

When you need to delete downloaded 1099 data it is not completely extracted
So, when Merrill Lynch sends a corrected 1099 a week before filing, turbotax will let you delete the old 1099 and download the corrected form
BUT somehow pieces of the first download remain and result in numerous phantom errors

What's great about it: Well thought thru interface, easy to follow steps
What's not so great: none!
