Turbo Tax Rating

You should hire an exApple person to human factor TurboTax
What's great about it: Fairly well user friendly
What's not so great: I had trouble setting up a joint return and solving problems the program flagged.

Surprise Refund

Excellent. This was our 10th year with Turbo Tax and it just keeps getting better.
What's great about it: Easy to load, use and submit. Love it.

Nice once again

I had to put an specific PIN number in my return. I had to hunt for that box. Should have been in the signature page area or the personal data area. It was a little confusing to find but once I did the system did allow me to re-Efile.
What's great about it: better organized
What's not so great: Ask if on has an ID PIN sooner
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Met all my expectations

Generally find Turbo Tax to be very user-friendly and full of additional information that not only helps me complete my taxes but also gives me ideas for investing and future tax planning. Well worth the price.
What's great about it: Like and use the pop-up "learn more' links within the pages. These are extremely helpful also in tax planning!
What's not so great: Can't think of one.,

A little better than last year

1. The program for federal tax does not handle correctly the deduction for property tax on cars. My state, MO, refers to this as a personal property tax, but Turbotax insists on referring to it as a registration fee and handles it in a separate question. It takes some effort to work around this bug in Turbotax.
2. The program for MO disregards what I have already specified about which items of income are mine and which are my wife's. Instead, Turbotax makes incorrect assumptions, which I then must correct in the forms mode. The program for federal tax asks about the items of income, which are mine and which are my wife's, so the program for MO should use that information. There is no excuse for this bug to persist year after year after year after ....
What's great about it: No new bugs.
What's not so great: Old bugs are still there.

Its so simple to use, absolutely love it. The links to get more helpful information. Pulling in info from last year. Awesome application.
What's great about it: SIMPLE! Guides user through the complex world of taxes.
What's not so great: Sometimes hard to find rental information and where to input.

We Moved

We moved from California to Wisconsin. Our home in California is now a rental home. TurboTax helped us split the expenses between personal use and rental, but not all of them. This is confusing and disappointing that Intuit didn't cover all aspects of the transition. I would have expected it to cover all or none, but partial coverage makes a mess.
Other than this, the rest of TurboTax is great as always. It walks through everything explaining everything excellently.

Disappointed

Have used TT for many years. Was disappointed to find the updater would not work. I attempted to utilize some of the fixes suggested on the web site but was not successful. Had to source support and wait 40 minutes to have someone get back to me. Once that happened, I was able to appreciate the ease of use I have grown accustomed to.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Updates were a pain
