Good product I'll use it again.
the only thing is I tried to ask a question about the product like does Primer do 1041 return they sent me to ask a expert and I think there would have been a charge.
What's great about it: Used Turbo since 2002 been happy with it.
What's not so great: Had to upgrade to Premier last, because of elimenation of forms I used in the old Deluxe

Good but needs more work

Handling of K-1s needs more work.
1. To make sure that one does not show sale of PTP within interview when one has also received a 1099-B for the sale. As it is now, the interview does not guard against this.
2. Need input dialogue in the interview for all the line items that can come up for each line in the K-1, especially for all of the items in line 20. As it is now, there is no guidance on how to handle most of these items.
Have used TT for 20 or so years. But disappointed.
3. All line items in 1040 should have rabbit trails to where the information came from. Not true for line 14, which takes one to Form 4797, which does not show where the numbers come from in terms of which K-1s. When one has 25 K-1s, Form 4797 or a worksheet for it should show the build-up to the numbers shown.
What's not so great: K-1 handling

TurboTax Premier on Windows 10
on April 11, 2016

Once I reset Windows 10 then TurboTax Premier worked fine.
What's great about it: step by step instructions that were relatively easy to follow
What's not so great: TurboTax Premier would not run on older Windows 10 installation
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

struggled to find information pertinent to my situation. Pension payout from a former employer, cashed and then rolled over to existing personal 401K
What's great about it: things went smoothly
What's not so great: concerns about pension pay outs and rollovers...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Done in a flash waiting for my cash

It was super easy for me to file my taxes. My ADP W2 forms were able to be automatically uploaded. The system walked me through step by step. My return was pretty simple so I didn't need to review all the possible deductions and credits. Periodically all of the various deductions would come up at once and I could skip them. There is also a feature at the beginning offering to walk you through everything or explore on your own. If you know that you are going to be using the standard deduction or a 1040 EZ form choose explore on your own. New this year, they asked for your driver's license number, expiration and issue dates, so have that handy, especially if you are filing jointly. That's a government thing, not Turbo tax. Overall I did my taxes in about 25 minutes!
What's great about it: easy to use, walked me through the process
What's not so great: no way to go straight to the 1040 EZ form
Pros: I moved
