I have used Turbo Tax to file my tax returns for a number of years and the software has become easier and easier to use each year.
What's great about it: Easy to understand instructions and help hints.
What's not so great: Navigating back to specific section was cumbersome.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Mixed, I am a long-time user of product, had to call for customer support twice this year, Three problems: financial data from broker did not download, state return did not load and transfer data from federal, was unable to e-file on first try,
What's great about it: question format cool
What's not so great: many automated features of downloading financial data, compeltion of state return, and e-fling did not work at first

Forms were fast. Give it a 4.5 stars. Can't give a 5 star because of the payment section for state taxes. Very frustrating after such a good experience filling out the forms.
What's great about it: Form was fast and some previous areas like 401K were corrected
What's not so great: Payment area was too difficult. Information boxes didn't enlarge and were difficult to read.

I have a pretty straightforward return with one K-1. I'm also a CPA, so I have a good understanding of what the return is supposed to look like when I'm finished. I would recommend a paid preparer if you have K-1s and don't understand passive loss rules, materially participating, etc.
What's great about it: Pretty quick and thorough
What's not so great: Price keeps going up

Personal Income Taxes with Rental Properties

For some reason it didn't show an error on one of my rental properties. Last year (2014) I had expenses but this year I had forgotten to input the expenses for 2015 on one of my rental properties. I only realized the error when I reviewed the printed PDF. When I checked for errors through TurboTax, software didn't pick up any errors. There were expenses entered in 2014 for this property. I think TurboTax should have recognized that I may have made an error on the expense section for this rental property since I had expenses in 2014.
What's great about it: Easy to enter information, picked up last years figures
What's not so great: Didn't recognize I didn't input rental property expenses
