I really like being able to do my own taxes for much less than I was paying a CPA to do them. Since Turbo Tax gives alot of detailed information about where to find the info necessary to enter, it makes it possible for me to confidently complete my tax return. The only drawback is that sometimes I run into a question about which info on my brokerage yearly statement to enter, and I cannot answer it without calling my brokerage representative.
What's great about it: The Turbo Tax software gives you detailed information about where to find the info that needs to be entered.
What's not so great: Had to call my brokerage to get some questions answered.

Vastly superior to trying to file out taxes with out assistance.
What's great about it: Fairly good with instruction, but not for the financially impaired.
What's not so great: I missed somethings that the program missed and my filing was rejected.

Complicated Return

I had what I thought was a complicated return, selling a second property and had to complete a depreciation adjustment and needed help. Although the wait time was long, I was able to select to have someone call me, which was right on schedule. Mike explained what I needed to do and was aware of some recent changes in one of the forms I needed, so he asked for a day to review them. We set up an appointment and he called, walked me through the changes, and then called a few days later to review what I had completed. I was blown away by guidance and customer service I received.

Pretty Easy to Use

Overall a good product. Would like to be able to see the money amount needed for various deductions like medical. For instance, if you don't have at least $6000 in medical expenses you won;t be able to count them. And a running total on itemized expenses as well as tax/refund/bill. It would also be nice to be told which investment companies Turbo Tax has an interest in when you offer to set up IRAs etc.
What's great about it: Easy to move thru the return
What's not so great: Need to show how much you need for various deductions

Disapointed

My efile got rejected. after I paid the money to do it and when I tried to fix the problem, TurboTax wouldn't let me do what the IRS told me to do, so now I paid the money and have to mail it in anyway.
What's great about it: Easy until the end
What's not so great: The IRS told me to one thing and Turbotax wouldn't let me do it

Some Issues

Business expenses and SEP IRA contributions were really hard to find. Printing to mail CA return was also hard to find, not on the page to e-file so had to hunt around.
What's great about it: User for 20 years (about) - better every year
What's not so great: State return to print and mail not easy to find

As Easy As It Can Be

I've used Turbo versions for 9 straight years and although I've considered switching, I've not been able to find another tax program as easy to use nor with the 100% guarantee of accuracy along with help in an audit if you need it. I started with the Basic version of Turbo Tax, advanced to the Deluxe version in the second year to take advantage of its advanced features, and am now using the Investments and Rental Properties version which handles all my financial issues easily. I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Step-by-step guidance and instructions, then a 100% guarantee of accuracy
What's not so great: No one likes tax season, but Turbo Tax makes it as painless as possible
