I've used Turbo Tax for about 10 years. I went to an accountant before that, but I had to gather all the information and take it to him. Why not input the data yourself and understand how interest and other spending affects your taxes. Turbo Tax explains everything and helps you understand tax laws. It's easy to use. I've refinanced homes several times and its nice to have prior year tax returns in a pdf form to be able to use.
What's great about it: Being able to save information from previous years.
What's not so great: I know see any cons.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The 2015 Turbo Tax was excellent! Helped me keep my payment as low as possible. Learned what could and could not be deducted. Still miffed that after all my professional years and good investment advise, we still have to pay taxes! Just not right! Oh well, just get rid of Obama and the present administration and things have to improve. Or I'll relocate in another country!!! (Just joking)

I needed outside help to handle the sale of an inherited property. Once I knew what form I needed to report this sale, it was easy to do! The "lead" questions on property sale only mentioned sale of home and sale of rental/income property. Neither of these situations applied in my case.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Long time user

I've been using Turbo Tax since there was such a thing, all the way back to the DOS days (for you young whipper-snappers, that means Disk Operating System) before Windows. The early years, even though superior compared to the tedium of working on paper returns, were not entirely without issues. But, as years passed, Intuit learned and perfected. Today and for the last decade or so, I've never had a problem. That said, I haven't had anything major throughout the course of time with you. Best wishes for continued success!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: None lately. Last 10 years almost flawless.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Federal is great, states are poor

State products do not make entry of values from the K-1s from partnerships easy. For Federal taxes, you plug in the values from the forms and it works. For States, the values on supporting schedules for states that come with K-1 do not relate at all clearly to the questions asked by Turbo Tax. Very frustrating and time consuming. If you have 5-7 states, it adds up to a great amount of struggle, even if you are a non-resident. Wording on state questions is often very unclear, with potential multiple interpretations inherent in grammar as well as substance. For non-resident filers, I'd rate the state products as poor.
What's great about it: Federal is clear, easy. Work on topics of choice is excellent
What's not so great: States are costly, e-filing states costly, questions unclear or worse
