1099-MISC problems

TurboTax automatically forces 1099-MISC forms to self- employment income. The income must be entered as miscellaneous income in order to avoid paying self- employment taxes. I don't know why TurboTax can't fix this problem as it is a common problem. TurboTax Community members suggest various ways to solve this problem. All involve circumventing the 1099-MISC reporting process.
What's great about it: in general very nice program
What's not so great: TurboTax does not handle 1099-MISC forms correctly for college students

I have been using TurboTax for the last 15 years... continued improvements by Intuit make it easy to use yet make me confident that it is accurate.

What's great about it: I have difficult taxes - dividends, small business, retirement, rentals, yada, yada and this was so easy!
What's not so great: State taxes cost to e-file. Seems like you should receive at least 1 state filing.

Turbo tax makes filing income taxes as painless as possible. I used to do my filing longhand and turbo tax makes me look forward to filing to see what has been improved ear over year.
Good Job!!!!
What's great about it: year to year import and download of financial data
What's not so great: need a search tool that can navigate to certain areas in turbo tax

I had to buy Deluxe and Premier this year so have 2 programs. Never used Deluxe. Schedules included should be included on TurboTax box. Not sure I'll use TurboTax next year after having used it for at least 10 years. Very frustrating not knowing what is included with disk.
What's not so great: Delux needs schedules D and F

Generally helpful. Liked that it prompted me based on previous year entries. Like comparison with previous years. Not available if filing on line.
