Gets better and better

Can't see why anyone would pay an accountant when this software is so easy. You don't need to know much about taxes, but you do need to know to keep track of certain receipts etc. Love how almost everything can be downloaded from either a bank directly or imported from Quicken.
What's great about it: I was really happy this year to see that turbo tax could handle the ESPP & RSU stock contributions by employers.

It took a couple of sessions over a couple of days to come to the end and file, but overall, it was pretty intuitive and reassuring when needed
What's great about it: Walks you through without thinking you forgot anything
What's not so great: Still, way too complicated of a process overall, but that is a government issue really

On the whole turbo tax is easy to follow with clear instructions. I wish I didn't Upgrade my program from Deluxe to Premier because my return didn't require it. It didn't help answer any additional questions or help with additional refunds.
I'd suggest that if you do have numerable investments that you've bought or sold then it would be worth the additional investment. Just be sure you select the Premier Package at the start otherwise you'll pay more. (Note: I was able to get a refund for the difference just by asking.)
What's great about it: Easy to follow with clear instructions
What's not so great: Charges more for Upgrade within the program than original price

Makes Taxes Less Pain

Overall, Turbo Tax is awesome. I am a CPA and I tell people that don't want to pay enormous amounts for people to do their taxes to get Turbo Tax, since it is from the same manufacturer that makes the programs for the CPA's.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Has some glitches

TurboTax is suuuuuper easy

TurboTax is super easy to use, goes through all the steps, and picks all the right defaults. This UI is super streamlined and also allows you to login to get your W-2 and interest income. Honestly if I didn't triple-check everything, I'd have been done in 15 minutes!
What's great about it: everything straightforward, walked through everything, ez-pz
What's not so great: don't really have anything bad to say
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Taxes Simplified

In the past I have paid an individual to do my taxes. I decided that due to being W-2 employees I was paying too much. Turbo Tax was easy much less expensive and did not take much time at all. Thank you
What's great about it: Very intuitive-easy
What's not so great: Would like to see tax forms as preparing; visual of the form
