Made filing my taxes an easy, one evening task.
What's great about it: Comprehensive ... easy to use. I am a clergyman and TurboTax understands the complexities of my tax situation.
What's not so great: None.

First time filling on my own

First time filing on my own using Turbo Tax. Before I had assistance from a big accounting firm.
What I liked: - No need to copy form contents thanks to electronic import from various sources - Pretty intuitive interface
What I did not like: - Some error messages during validation were completely useless since they did not provide any context nor way to go back to the origin of the error
What's great about it: Electronic transfers from sources
What's not so great: Some error messages give no context.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This is the first time doing them on my own. I usually have a professional do them or I have had my mother do them. It was really easy and I will continue using Turbo Tax. Thanks Turbo Tax!!!
What's great about it: It was easy to file.
What's not so great: Nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

on the summary page I want to have a line that says what % rate my next dollar of income will be taxed. info Effective rate is not adequate.
You ask many questions on the first go round but then if I need to change an answer I have to hunt through the worksheets and modified forms to find where to amend the answer.
While the questions on the partnership K-1 forms eventually came out OK. I had to wonder from the questions as they came up if they would address the supplemental Numbers provided by my partnership.
at end of work screens read about previews but then the button has " Print preview" not clear that the preview can be saved electronically for previewing
I'd like to see the numbers also fall into the real IRS forms at times too not just your manipulated IRS forms.
What's great about it: provided a depth to the questions on the K-1
What's not so great: did not transfer my interest sources from other tax prep software

Figuring out soc security/medicare owed

TurboTax Premier had all the forms needed. It was easy to step through, but sometimes seemed a little overkill. However, nobody has the same situation. Let Turbotax ask the questions--don't assume you know the answers. Turbotax has found a lot more refunds for me than I thought I had coming. the refunds paid for the TurboTax many times over.
What's great about it: looked at all the angles and explained
What's not so great: self-employment tax not explained to us dummies

2015 changes

The audit check should include all errors/missing information before allowing the user to finalize their tax return to begin the e-file process. The very last step of the e-file process asks for additional information that was apparently "not needed/required" during the audit process.
What's great about it: Ability to Import more files from more financial firms. I saved a few days of work.
What's not so great: Final corrections needed before e-filing, after the audit check showed no errors!

I have investment income. When I purchased the 2014 version of Turbo Tax Deluxe as I always had, I was of course shocked to find out that I needed an upgrade. Apparently this was the case with a lot of people and you made it "right", and gave us the product we needed. When I heard from Mr Sasan Goodarzi, that "we are committed to bringing back the product you know and love. By the time you are ready to prepare and file your taxes next year, the TurboTax desktop product you trusted in the past will include the forms you've counted on for years" I was a happy camper. Of course that was NOT the case, as this year I needed premier to do my investment income. You were kind enough this year to upgrade me, but I have to wonder what will happen in 2016. The cost for premier is excessive for my needs and I may be forced by this decision to look elsewhere. Although you did upgrade me, I was never given a reason why you did not live up to Mr. Goodarzi's word. I guess I'll find out next January if I will be using Turbo tax or a different tax preparation product.
What's great about it: Same great product as it has been for the last 15 years that I have been using it
What's not so great: Sorry see below
Pros: I bought or sold investments
