Over all I had a good experience dealing with the Dread of taxes.
What's great about it: Helped me cover all the bases
What's not so great: Pay out at end was a littledifficult

Have been using Turbo Tax for years

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and have always found it easy to use. The hardest thing is gathering all the needed information which you have to do no matter whether you do your taxes yourself or have a professional do them. This software is similar to what the professionals use. You can import your information from last year which makes it even easier because Turbo Tax reminds you of things you had on your return from the prior year and prompts you to answer whether you have those items continuing.
What's great about it: Easy to use, will walk you through everything in a simple to follow question and answer format,
What's not so great: Doesn't keep information on mortgage points from prior year

Money Well Spent

I've used Turbo Tax for several years and love it. This was the first year I've added a rental property and was worried filing taxes were going to be very difficult and Turbo Tax was right there, just as dependable as when taxes were simpler. Love it.
What's great about it: Helpful information is right there, just click and get the answers or even get more details online.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Maybe it is just me but I had trouble getting retired income for both me and my wife without something dropping out. But I started over it worked fine.

I've used TurboTax for a number or years and it makes tax returns easy.
What's great about it: I just needed to update my prior year data

Lawd am I gonna get audited?

We (I *LOL*) have done our taxes on TurboTax, for the last 8 yrs of our 10 yr marriage. We have NEVER had a refund. The Turbo Tax program seems to always spot differences from one year to another and either reassure of the reason that this might be true, so that I still know that I'm going good, or stop me to ask a question about a difference to redirect me, in the event that I might have misstepped. We are under the assumption that because we purchased a new home this year, this accounts for the surprise refund, but the program offered no reassurance to this end, despite having our 8 yr history. So hopefully I didn't spaz and earn us an audit. But yaaaay for a refund year if I did good.
What's great about it: seemed to help me do everything right and easily, with reassurances or clarifications on differences from year to year
What's not so great: we have never gotten a refund in 10 years of marriage, program did not identify and offer why that is happening this yr

Thank Goodness

There is no way I would be able to learn, let alone do the calculations needed to manage taxes for my two unit home. I was paying a small fortune for a CPA. The taxes were done accurately but I still had to collect and organize all the necessary info. With clearly understood prompting, Turbo Tax allows me to organize and enter the gathered info at my leisure and gives me the same end result as a CPA or other tax specialist. I've been using it for years. Another perk is that, after the first year with Turbo Tax, all useful info is carried forward into the current years taxes.
What's great about it: Does all the knowing what to do for me.
What's not so great: I still makes me gather and enter the numbers. Oh well.
