all in all, a great easy to follow program with excellent care into the details. questions are answered quickly and efficiently with no doubt as to their accuracy.
What's great about it: easy to follow step by step instructions
What's not so great: it would be nice to be able to download my info. from broker

Great Fun taxes

Another painless Tax year. My taxes are not super complicated but every year the code gets more confusing. I at least know that my taxes are done correctly with TurboTax. 20+ years and never a mistake or audit.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: cannot increase font/view on a Mac

My Annual Struggle

I got message saying: "Cannot be autosaved. Another application entered info(?). Saving could delete this info. Do you want to save?". I had the choice to delete this stuff coming from the other app & then save, which I did. There was no alternative. Every time I reopened the return I had to go back and repeat what I did the last time and each time I got that message. When time to file came it happened again and e-file did not succeed. After repeating what I had done the time before and getting to e-file again i was asked to pay for State software again, at which time TurboTax froze. The next time I tried the routine & got e-file my payment was accepted for the second time. This time when I got the message, I just went to "save" before e-filing and it went through. I hope the returns will be accepted and correct. This year is no different in terms of frustration with TurboTax!
What's great about it: It still might better than doing taxes by hand.
What's not so great: Ended up paying twice for State software. Would not autosave.

Turbo Tax Individual

I am a retired CPA from public practice and I found the package to be flexible to use. It is broad enough to complete very simple or very complex returns. I will use it again next year.
What's great about it: Allows you to get guidance line by line or you can choose the forms you want to work on
What's not so great: None

Doing My Taxes

In total it was a great experience and the questions were easy to understand and follow to provide the info needed.
K-1s can be a nightmare and in general, impressed how the question process prompted you along and enabled you to complete. Having said that, it still was not easy and with the proliferation of MLP type investments that unfortunately, generate K-1s, the more that can be done with turbotax to make that process easier, the better.

What's great about it: thorough, questions easy to follow, nice flow, overall, just an excellent experience
What's not so great: not easiest to understand how to go to a form,see how being filled out, how to override, etc.

Only way to file taxes

I don't know if it was changing to Windows 10 or what, but it was more time consuming doing the actual e-file, the verifications and paying for my state e file by credit card. Also, this was the first year I imported from our brokerage, and that required a lot more checking, rechecking and deleting duplicative forms.
What's great about it: Gives me confidence that I've covered all my bases.
What's not so great: Actual e-filing more cumbersome this year.
