Not like it used to be.

The CD version is not very friendly anymore and a lot of features are missing that were there before. Maybe the more expensive on-line version is better.
What's great about it: Imports from previous version.
What's not so great: Missing features that it used to have, like tax planning for the next year.

What's not so great: I had an error that I could not correct. I bounced all over the place trying to fix it. Then it suddenly fixed itself.

AMT section

Not enough info, examples or explanations within TT for AMT interview questions. Had to review IRS 6251 instructions for clarifications. - seems to contradict TT claim about easy tax prep.

Two-State Filing tough

I was able to file my Federal return w/o problems. My Louisiana form (work there but live in TX) passed the check in February, but came up with a watermark "Do not file" with no reason given. Double checked everything, got all the updates, but still came up with the same watermark. I held off filing for 6 weeks, and checked one more time in April and got updates at that time, and everything went through ( I made no changes - not sure why it was accepted). This effort wasted about 3-4 hours of my time and delayed my state refund by 6 weeks. I have been a TurboTax user since the mid 90's..
What's great about it: Federal form is easy
What's not so great: Louisiana Firm was initially rejected by Turbotax - no reason

Not printing at the end was a real turn-off.
What's great about it: It did the job, ok.
What's not so great: It would not print a final return, It would only provide a PFD file

Review of 2015 Turbo Tax

The Turbo Tax software is easy to use and thorough, I trust the software. I've been using this program for many years. I was just a bit confused by the process to file a paper return for my state. Turbo Tax indicated that my tax situation was not supported in an e-file format. The instructions indicated that I was to select the "File" tab and continue. I realized that the software didn't mean the File menu option, but I cycled through attempts before I found the tab to be used and I was then successful.
What's great about it: Easy, step by step process
What's not so great: Tricky when I had to file paper for state

Love TurboTax but doesn't work well w/ Windows 11

I have a Dell Inspiron 11 running Windows. TuboTax does not work well with this configuration. Each time I went to a new page, it returned to the home page of Windows and required me to swipe and select to return to my work. Also, I am required to mail something to the Government, but I don't know what because when I try to print the document, it hangs up TurboTax. I will likely have to e-mail Intuit in order to resolve this issue.
What's great about it: Works well with complicated returns
What's not so great: Does not work well with Windows 11
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

What a relief!

So glad to have returns done and Turbo Tax made it so much simpler than filling in forms by hand!
What's great about it: Answered all my questions. Input all my info from last year's return for me. Easy to use. Clearly understandable.
