Fantastic Refund Year

This was my 5th year to use TurboTax and my first year to file as a retiree and it was easier than I expected. Entering the 1099-Rs were a breeze and I even understood how to enter the foreign taxes/credit information in the dividend section this year!
What's great about it: Easy step by step, walked me thru my refund.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

I have used Turbotax for many years now and find it to be easy and accurate. It takes all the bother out of doing taxes. I love it!

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and I believe it is better in some ways than using a tax preparer. I don't like more taxes than I owe.

WOW a Refund!

Have been using TurboTax since the DOS days. Normally use the Forms view to enter data. Switched to "Step-by-step" to ensure I did not miss anything. This did help catch deductible items.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Switching between "Step-by-step" and "Forms" and back does not return you to the same place.

UPDATE ISSUES

I have used TURBO TAX for many years. 2015 was the first year that I experienced issue using the program and trying to get it to update. I had to google to find help and load a patch from the internet....it was very frustrating!!!! Next year, I will go to the internet first to find out if there are issues. If issues exist, I will not purchase Turbro Tax next year.

(I am not a lawyer or accountant and the following may be a misunderstanding of tax law. I may be wrong here, but Turbo Tax is not helpful and tens of thousands of dollars could be at stake.)
If one needs to sell their home and would experience a significant loss, it is advantageous to rent the property for several years. The price may recover, but even if it doesn't the tax consequences can significant.
Basically the loss is a business net operating loss (NOL) that can significantly reduce taxes by thousands of dollars. In addition, this loss can be "carried back" to previous years.
However, it appears that following Turbo Tax prompts for "carry forward" will cause a form to be submitted to the IRS that permanently revokes any future claim to recover the loss from previous taxes.
If one needs to sell their home and would experience a significant loss, it is advantageous to rent the property for several years. The price may recover, but even if it doesn't the tax consequences can significant.

Another Good Turbo Tax Year

Every year the tax program is easlier and easlier to use. I have used Turbo tax all my working life and through paying taxes and receiving refunds and never had a problem in using or filing.
What's great about it: It makes it simple for the lay person to file taxes no matter how complicated their tax liability is.
