Easy but a major bug

Overall, this year's turbotax was as easy to use as previous years. It has a seamless interface that asks for key information and then explains why you do or do not need to worry about the ramifications of the information. BUT, two major issue have plagued turbotax for 2 years worth of returns now: the 1099R distribution bug and the lack of support to file a federal return jointly and state returns separately.
For the 1099R, it cannot be 0 and will glitch (and not let you file) if it thinks it is 0 even after you leave it blank. PLEASE FIX THIS! Most paper copies of a 1099R don't even have box 9a on it so why is it so important to turbotax?
For the filing support, there are several good reasons to file Federal returns jointly but need to file State returns separately but turbotax cannot do any of them! It cannot be that hard to code in the ability to change filing status (and declare what belongs to whom) when you do your state taxes. Please?
It is a shame that the process was so easy until the very end... But, the overall program is solid and didn't show any huge issues internally.
What's great about it: Step by Step was very easy to use and helped avoid missing items or errors!
What's not so great: 1099R distribution bug and lack of "Federal filed jointly but state filed separately" support

Frustrated and disappointed

We have been using Turbotax for over 10 years, this is the last time we will use it. When dealing with this years taxes we were expecting a flawless transfer of last years tax data to this years. We were in for rude awakening when your product resulted in a electronic nightmare. Not only did it import last years taxes incorrectly, it wouldn't import electronic data at all. We were forced to enter this years tax data in manually. The one time we needed help, we found your help useless to non existent. After this years fiasco I would not recommend your product to anyone.
What's great about it: it calculates and uses the right forms for our investments
What's not so great: it had personal info wrong and help hard to get

Turbo Tax is great

I have pretty complicated taxes with several k1's from real estate invetments and other partnerships and TT handles them well

Great Program

I've subscribed to TurboTax for over 10 years. It has never been easier to prepare my tax returns. It is particularly helpful in transferring information from my brokerage account into my tax return worksheets.
What's great about it: Prior Years inför easily merged with this years return
What's not so great: None

A Helpful Program Still Needing Much Improvement

Each year I ask for more user friendliness and flexibility. I see NO changes. I'm waiting for Godot! Come on good people. Give us some help, PLEASE. Or, do I have to switch to another program for 2016?
What's great about it: Does a huge amount of the calculating minutiae that saves mountains of time.
What's not so great: Needs to be much more flexible, intuitive and user friendly for data input.

Turbo Tax is very comprehensive in covering unusual circumstances. It gives beneficial clarifications if needed. It allows simple backpedaling if/when needed. It allows simple abrupting and restarting as needed to fit the users schedule.
What's great about it: ease of identifying & reviewing entries
