Turbo Tax to the Rescue

Turbo tax has been a life saver for me the last three tax years. I am always running out of time and Turbo tax makes things so easy for me with their different versions. The program will walk you through everything or allow you to go to specific actions if you know what you are doing. As far as I am concerned Turbo Tax is the way to go and I plan on continuing to use it every year from now on. Thank you Turbo Tax!!
What's great about it: Easy to use and lots of information can be preloaded from prior year.
What's not so great: None for me.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes it easy!

I've been using TurboTax for years. It allows me to understand what is going on with my taxes, and helps me do it myself.
What's great about it: concise, allows me to do it myself

import errors

for some reason the program didn't import all the figures from my previous year's taxes. I had to recreate the depreciation data for one of my rental properties. Took me a while to find the mistake and it also took me a while to find the right document to create a new depreciation table. What an ordeal.

2015 Taxes

Overall it was great. I started mid afternoon and it's after midnight; however, I go through taxes that included an out of state move, sale of stocks, 2 state returns and business expenses. I'm very satisfied with the process.
What's great about it: I was able to get through a very complicated tax return with little difficulty
What's not so great: There were a few places where I had to go back and input information I had input through the regular process

Nailed It!

Love the layout and form questions! Great detail in the help pop-ups on every page! Purrfect the way past years information is entered form me. Hints, double checks, and poignant questions throughout the process help to ease your way through the swampy mess called Income Tax.
The issue I found is that when it founds an error that information from last year was not needed that year it needed to ask if I wanted to delete that form and it didn't !!

What's not so great: Would not let me delete a K-1 form that ended 2 years ago

I've used this for at least a half-dozen years and every year it just gets better.
What's great about it: Downloads my accounts
What's not so great: I sometimes don't understand new forms--especially health insurance forms

Nice program; main comments;
1) had to enter several 1099's by hand. It would be nice to have the option all by hand on first screen rather than show up on my last form.
2) my taxes are fairly simple, i used fillable forms on web and got same numbers except for some reason my tax was lower than what i looked up in tax table for same taxable income. i don't understand that; i just checked lookup.

Easy to use program, inputs data in order of forms rather than irs lines which is nice. Definitely worth it.
What's great about it: lower tax
What's not so great: too many same clicks

wonderful product

this product easily imports last years information saving time and it also imports current w2 information and statement info from various brokers making the overall process very easy. I feel its more accurate than if I keyed the information in myself.
What's great about it: Importing has never been easier
