unable to finalize filing process

I would give it five stars today if I could simply complete the online filing but, a no go?!
What's great about it: clear instructions
What's not so great: would not finalize process with credit card
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

What's great about it: User friendly, comprehensive, love the importing of data from last year. Love comparison columns from last year.
What's not so great: Wish it was free efiling for state refunds as well.

Easy As Pie

Turbo Tax is extremely simply to use. I just had to do my background work figuring out my deductions, expenses, and gathering forms. Then let the program walk me through the steps. Since I used Turbo Tax last year a lot of the information was automatically filled in for me. It let me compare this year with last years entries. I could see where I had improved (more deductions) and where I need to work better for next year. I especially liked that it found that I could claim the sales tax for the car I bought last year. This was one of my biggest refunds ever. Next year I plan to file earlier. One complaint I had was on my state form I clicked on an option to see what it was asking the deduction was. Once I had visited it, the program wouldn't let me just skip it even though I couldn't claim the deduction. It just wouldn't take "no" for an answer. I finally did get it to accept the form. (My local school district does not collect income tax. It kept asking me for my school districts number even though the amounts were zero.)
What's great about it: Turbo Tax guided me through all the steps. I did my background work and then plugged the infromation in.
What's not so great: Hit a glitch on one state form. Kind of pesky but I finally figured it out.

Good Tax Aid

Something is really wrong with taxing authorities [especially Washington] when you need and accountant or a computer program to file your taxes. The set-up is an accountant/lawyer employment and retirement funding scheme. This program works well and reduces the time needed to do taxes by eliminating the need to pour over Federal form explanations, helps insure you don't miss something, and does the math. You still have to collect the data, of course, but after the first year using it, you know what personal worksheets to build so that the actual data entry goes smoothly. Have been using it since 2011 and the prior year data capture saves time and presents the prior year numbers for comparison to help spot bonehead errors. Overall, strongly recommend it, will continue to use it until the Fed's make it easier or until I kick-off, whichever comes first.
What's great about it: Federal forms are well paced and user is guided through the steps.
What's not so great: Massachusettss forms lack FAQ questions to explain requested information.

KS Homestead Form incomplete as questions about disability were not asked prior to form being completed. Manually filed form instead of e-filing. Since prior year data incomplete comparisons were useless. IRA worksheet picked up 12//31/2013 excess contributions not 2014 adjusted number as RMD had started in 2014.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Prior Year Data not imported completely

The standard for Tax software, but could be better

The interview process was at times tediously repetitive. As each section was addressed for each run through (different scenarios with different numbers, such as IRA's) the answers to questions were not remembered and logged, when they should have been. For instance, the same 5 questions had to be answered 25 different times just because one number value changed. VERY TEDIOUS!!!
What's great about it: Good Tax Prep software that I have used for years.
What's not so great: Could not get past some questions.. Some answers to some questions were not rememebered for each run through..
