Turbo Tax software

Easy to use. You don't need to be an accountant. I highly recommend it to everyone. Save you money and a piece of mind knowing that you are not sharing you personal information with strangers.
What's great about it: Just answer the questions to the best of your knowledge.
What's not so great: Sometimes your situation is not 100% covered and a litter confusing.

Using since late 1990's

Overall it's great, but seems that every year there are a couple of frustrating glitches. Last year somehow I couldn't get started correctly and it saved two versions of the return. This year I chose the incorrect version, and when I discovered that, I had to start all over. Then when time came to review and file, it kept telling me I had to go back to my federal W2. I had NO w2's this year. It wanted me to add?? a suffix to my name. I have no suffix??
In the end it accepted everything and my returns are submitted. Just wish these little things could be corrected.

Great Software

I've used turbotax for more than a decade now. It's a huge advantage over my prior method of using a pencil and an overused eraser. I used to gather piles of IRS reference material and worksheets on the dining room table then spend days entering and reviewing entries. Afterward, I'd constantly fret about possible mistakes.
While I may still fret a bit, I feel much more confident using the resources and support that turbotax now provides. I also feel much more confident that my records are accurate and securely backed up.
What's great about it: Provides excellent advice at every step.
What's not so great: Some steps can be daunting. For example, rental property.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

cost me on my returns but no fault to Turbo Tax

Turbo tax ask everything you don't have to think about. I like doing it at home as information comes in. It also gave us the time to get the money we have to pay ready before April 15. I also like tax updates. I wish once we would get a refund but that is no fault of Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Able to do early and prepare forhowmuch to pay
