I have not used any other tax software except Turbotax x 28yrs.
So, I have no way of comparing. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied with TT and will continue to use it.

What's great about it: Transfer data and navigation process.
What's not so great: once in a while, need some explanation but can not find it any where.

2016 Turbo Tax Premier

I've used for 10 years or more. Sill a good product. I like the instructional paths; would like a tabular / spreadsheet capability for repetitive areas under the "I have the information and I'll enter it" paradigm.
What's great about it: Thorough; easy to follow
What's not so great: Special case this year; I had 60+ nearly identical entries; took a number of entries to go to each unique entry

I am a retired CPA and have been a Turbo Tax user for many years. This product has always met my needs over the years. Now in retirement it keeps me well informed of all of the current tax laws. I have full confidence that my returns are filed completely and accurately.
What's great about it: Very User friendly
What's not so great: None

Love, love, LOVE TurboTax

I can do my taxes in a few hours with TurboTax. It makes deciphering stocks, medical costs, charitable contributions, and work expenses easy to understand and record. E-filing was fast and easy, and returns (if any) are deposited more quickly that way!
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough, understandable, hyperlinked help items

My business expenses were not deducted properly from 1040 line 24 and line 36. I had to override to correct this. As a result, I upset the process and couldn't eFile.
Following that, I'm now having trouble filing by mail (my always until now means of filing).
How do I know I'm right and TurboTax is wrong? For the first time in some 10 -12 years, TT has done it wrong and I had to override.

Overall A Good Product

Overall, this is an excellent tool for filing tax returns. I did not rate it 5 starts because for some reason, the 2015 version no longer remembers where you are when you save your return and exit, so every time I opened my return to work on it, TurboTax acted as if I was starting a new return. Once I navigated to where I left off then everything worked well. I had mixed results with the automatic connection to my brokerage accounts to download earnings and transaction data. One worked perfectly and the other one told me there was a problem connecting and I should wait a few days and try again. A little more information on the problem would have been helpful. I ended up entering that information manually since I didn't know what the problem was and thus I couldn't make an educated guess as to whether it would work if I tried again in a few days. I found the data entry for K-1 forms to be easier this year as it was easier to get to the worksheets for entering supporting data. Overall, the product is well designed and works well.
What's great about it: Covers many different forms, taxes and credits
What's not so great: Help function could be better

Fast & Easy

Very easy to use and navigate. Its a shame i had to pay an extra $25 to upgrade to the premier edition. I had one 1099-div form to enter and the deluxe does not cover stocks and dividends.
What's great about it: Guided step by step instructions
What's not so great: Pricey if you have stock dividends
