Import

My hard drive crashed and I could not import 2014 taxes. Going on line to my brokers office saved time, as I did not need to input everything again line by line.
Also the tax return rejection e-mail where I entered the wrong F1088R-502-2 (payer federal ID number after I filed was a great help with the walk through.
What's great about it: Easy to use and autmatically filled in correct forms. Real time saver

Transfer of data from broker

For the first time I decided to let Turbo Tax import information from the financial institutions. I had information from two sources and both had the same result. The 1099 R did not have anything for the line 9a. Turbo tax decided to put in 0.00. Then Turbo Tax told me I had an error and that Line 9a had to be corrected. I deleted the 0.00 from 9a but it still showed the error and would not let me continue with my return. I ended up having to delete all of my 1099 R forms and enter them manually. When I entered the information but left Line 9a blank as shown on the 1099 R, there were no errors and I was able to continue with my return.

Mostly Clear But Some Confusion

Perhaps each time i complete a set of compensation or deductions i could get a review of where i am in the process
Sometimes i felt like i was going down the rabbit hole with medical and tuition worksheets, but overall I will continue to use this s/w as i dbeleive it is a great value for the money

What's great about it: Allows me to go back as far as i need to. Also saves everything you enter
What's not so great: Some of the explanation isn't clear.

Very easy to navigate

Turbo Tax walked me through everything so that I was confident that I did not miss anything.
What's great about it: walked me through all areas needed
What's not so great: only gives me 1 state return filed.

Experience with Turbotax

1. In filing California K-1, lines 13 and 14 are missing from the Turbotax form. I finally checked with the Community, which claimed lines 13 and 14 weren't needed. (I hope this is true.)
2. In 1040, I had overpaid federal and California estimated taxes. I chose to apply both to my estimated taxed in 2016. California deducted it from my taxes. The federal did not. i finally had to enter in "Estimated Taxes and Form W-4 worksheet." Why not from the entry in 1040?
What's great about it: Mostly easy to use, covering almost all options for me
What's not so great: Two problems, mentioned below

Overall a great program! Would be better if a few areas were visible together. Hate that you still have to pay for State e file!
What's great about it: Great Refund - like prior year carry overs
