Best Tax Software

I am not that computer literate, but with turbox tax everything is so easy; even for computer dummies like me. Been using it for six years and never had any issues.
What's great about it: User friendly
What's not so great: Charges for state refunds

Very Good Experience

Thank heavens for TurboTax. Would give it 5 stars except that last year's Turbotax return was not accessible when I needed it in the purchase of a home. Always print out the return when Turbotax tells you you can do so because for the life of me I couldn't find it saved anywhere afterward. I had to order a copy of my return from IRS-not fun.
What's great about it: Gets the job done with minimum hassle
What's not so great: Not clear how to save the return on my computer-lost last years

Quick, Easy, Helped when things looked bleak!

Overall, very nice program and product to follow. I have used it every year for the past five years. This year seemed better than the past with the one exception...one line addition for multiple stock sales.
What's great about it: The program took me through every step and included suggestions on how to make things better.
What's not so great: Did not like the fact that I could only add one line at a time when entering in stock sales
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

More Than 10 Years

I have now been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years (probably closer to 15) and it makes doing taxes actually enjoyable. I don't mind picking a rainy day in the spring and pulling my folder of tax documents and launching TurboTax. It takes a few hours (and maybe 1 to 2 beverages) and it is all done. I know exactly what my audit risk is, how much my return or bill is and can compare to previous years so I can make a change on my W-4 if needed.
TurboTax works for my family and the complexity of our investment portfolio. I can't see spending significantly more money for a tax firm to do my taxes and find very little to offset their expense. TurboTax just works and has been great for us!
What's great about it: Tax deduction opyions, guided instruction, carryover information, audit risk evaluation, seemless data download from man
What's not so great: I have to buy a new version every year and not just download the update
Pros: I bought or sold investments
