The program was easier to navigate than in prior years. OR maybe I am getting better at using the program.

Got Taxed big time!

I would prefer a more straightforward way to handle a K-1 form which has income reported on each of the first three .lines, ordinary business, net rental real estate income, and other net rental income. I had to create three separate K-1s to handle this.
What's great about it: ease of switching between easystep and forms.
What's not so great: difficult to enter multiple partnership data and see which is which on schedule E.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overlooking the Obvious

I have been using this product since it was a DOS product on 5.25" floppies!
This year, I found it more difficult to go back to where I entered mileage (used to be an identifiable item) and to edit my estimated taxes. I found myself going to the forms and then trying to get to the NotSoEasyStep for that item. I seem to remember one could easily switch from a form line to the correct interview section but not now.
Searches for topics were not productive either, not recognizing that one want to go to the interview for a topic it cannot recognize, such as "Charitable Mileage" or "Charitable Travel".
What's great about it: All the forms I needed
What's not so great: Hard to go back to specific topics

Great program overall

Our social security income and misc income did not import form the 2014 Turbo Tax file but most info did. This made the 2 year comparison report wrong. The imported S T Capital losses carryover amount was off also & I had to amend. In the interest income section summary the net amount displayed after adjustments was not correct. However it was correct on the summary at the end of the income section and on Schedule B. I have been using Turbo Tax for years and I don't believe I have ever had these problems before. Hopefully it will be a one year fluke.
What's great about it: Like how you can navigate around the program and display forms at any time.
What's not so great: Some data did not import from 2014 file
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I filed 1099 for RMD's but one was not taken till Jan 2016. I had a surplus from my other RMD's but I could not find how to list the RMD from the account with no 1099.
What's not so great: Could not find all the forms needed
Pros: I bought or sold investments

One big annoyance
on April 8, 2016

The way that is set up for filling in a list of items bought out of state so that the correrct amount of tax will be paid to the state is extremely time-consuming. Worst of all, there is no way to simply feed in a tab-delimited spreadsheet that the user could have been adding items to all throughout the tax year.
Instead, one has to click on "add an item," go to another screen, fill in item name, date of purchase, amount, then click on that screen to go back where a long list of previous entries soon scrolls off the bottom of the page. One then scrolls down and clicks "add an item," and so forth. An extra half minute of annoyance is added for each purchase.
I used to make a spreadsheet, but then I would have to re-type every entry into TurboTax. I've just spent about as much time on sales tax as I spent on the federal and state tax entries combined.
What's great about it: Generally reliable and painless
What's not so great: Filling items in for Sales Tax AKA Use Tax, is a big drag.
