I checked on getting deduction for my education expenses and am confused that turbo tax says I can not get a credit because my income was above 160k but the detailed answers says it has to be above 180k. Which is it. ?
What's great about it: Imports data from previous year
What's not so great: Auto import from my employers did not work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

More difficult to use this year
on April 8, 2016
Posted by: Forgetme
I've used Turbo Tax for years with ease. This time I had a difficulty with estimates for the next year. The previous year, I had a one time gain due to selling securities in mid year. As a result, The program computed my estimates on the basis of last year's earnings. I could not a find a way to easily change the estimates. I was finally able to change the Federal estimate forms, but I could not seem to change the state forms. Ultimately, I printed blanks and filled them in myself. I am sure there is an way, but I could not find it.
What's great about it: Same as always, easy to enter basic stuff
What's not so great: Difficult to determine how to handle some situations
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax works great. It continues to improve over the years.
The only problem that I have with it is the high fee charged to electronically file the state tax return.
What's great about it: Makes filing a complicated tax return easy
What's not so great: Charges a high fee to electronically file the state form.
