What's not so great: Calculating 'home office' space, deductions, minimums on TurboTax is impossible.

Wanted to make copy of page which verified date and other info of e-filing and couldn't do it. Please make it easy to copy a form without going through a lot of gyrations.
Also it insists on filing a state return even though no state return was ever filled out! It also wanted to e-file the return!!
It automatically filled out an estimated payment form and vouchers even though it was obvious no such form was needed. Then it made copies of it!
I have student loans, but make too much money to qualify. I never filled in anything regarding such loans. BUT it insisted on filling out the form for deducting the student loans! Then it made copies of it. You like to kell trees!
What's great about it: Easy to fill in
What's not so great: difficult to make copies of certain forms/pages

Our income situation was a bit complicated this year to say the least but TurboTax took me though it in an organized manner and resulted in what looks like reasonable numbers. It is not the fault of TurboTax that United States Tax law is so complicated.
What's great about it: Took me throuigh complicated return in organized manner

What's not so great: Could did not find a way of estimating 2016 Federal Tax to fit our situation.

Easy Return

For the most part the process was fairly easy. My tax documents from my brokers were downloaded automatically and I used the "Guide Me" option. It's nice that you can break off at any time and return to any part of the filing to review and amend if paperwork was missing at the time.
The program did flag a problem with a 1099-B but it was confusing on how to fix it. It involved the sale of a partial stock worth just over a dollar after a stock split. I need to use the chat line for that one.

Sloppy little things, never fixed

The system is, by and large, good. But this year, more than most, I had trouble updating. I would open the file I was working on, the system would say there are updates and then lock up.
If I simply launched the app with no form in place, it would go through the process correctly and I could subsequently load the form I'd been working on.

The Arizona NR form doesn't include the Arizona K-1, it should. That makes reconciliation and data entry difficult.

What's great about it: As usual, the forms, questions, materials were very helpful
What's not so great: Updates...In December I called to say that when I tried to open a file, the update would simply lock. Never fixed.
