This is the fastest that the State has ever accepted the electronic filing.
What's great about it: Well outlined and easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Had some trouble returning to the main program from the information screen

Software Needs Improvement

While a system like TurboTax - answering relatively simple questions - is much easier than deciphering the instructions for and filling out the reams of paperwork the IRS requires for a relatively basic tax return, the software is far from perfect. For example, in the course of completing the step-by-step section for deductions related to using a personal vehicle for business, I answered all the related questions about the overall mileage for the year versus the business mileage for the year. Yet, when I reached the point of the final review prior to e-filing, most of the "issues" I needed to correct involved that exact same information. Apparently, though TurboTax asked for the information, the software never actually transferred that information to the appropriate form(s). Not only is this inconvenient, it does not exactly instill me with confidence regarding the accuracy of the rest of the return. Similarly, whenever I've had a question about something, I'm always referred to the community forum (rather than, as depicted in the television ads, an always-helpful, always-available TurboTax employee). While these forums sometimes have an answer, often they do not. Further, I often find the answers to have been submitted to similar questions, but from previous years. Given that the tax code changes just about daily, I can't help but wonder whether an answer posted 2, 3, or even 5 years ago contains information that is still appropriate for the current filing year.
What's great about it: It's a heckuvalot easier than filling out all that paperwork
What's not so great: It could/should be easier than it is

easy to enter basic info, very difficult with K-1's and frustrating to solve all the checks before an efile. also why so chintzy with only 1 state return?
What's great about it: ease of basic prep
What's not so great: terrible explanation of tricky parts

I have been using TurboTax for 10+ years and I like everything about it and gets better every year. One issue it seems is never resolved in my cases is the carryovers from prior year and it end up costing me some $$ a couple of times amazing it imports all the info from last year and then but NO not the Carryover. in 2015 is asking me to check to see if there is California Credit Carryovers from last year? I can not even find such a document in my 2014 file? 2nd issue is why does the online version not capable of importing the tax file from last year from my PC and get on with it? halfway I had to switch over to Download version and lost 3 hours?!! Thanks for improving it.
What's great about it: Fast and complete options to walk you thru or select sections
What's not so great: Always fails carryovers from last year -have to do this manually?! upsetting year after year
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved

I like Turbo Tax and it works smoothly and accurately. Have used for several years. Would like to see a review of what's new when opening up the program.
