First Time Using TurboTax
on April 7, 2016

TurboTax was a life saver when no professional tax preparers were available to me this year.
What's great about it: The step-by-step question-answer fromat is far easier than filling in the boxes on IRS forms.
What's not so great: The step-by-step question-answer fromat is not flexible when you need to depart from the normal flow

Easy to use

I've been using this for years. I was concerned when we bought a rental property but moved up to Turbo Tax Premier and have had no problems or issues. I choose to be guided through all the possible deductions. I particularly like the import of previous information, the year-to year comparison, the final review and the audit risk assessment features.
What's great about it: Prompts for information, provides guidance to maximize my refund.
What's not so great: After purchasing the product, it's annoying to have to pay to file the return.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

A step in the right direction

Was happy to see choices I had selected for the questions previously to be shown to me when I went through again. The Signature ID form is still confusing for the wording, this could still be more clear. Over all this is a good product.
What's great about it: I was glad to see that choices that were previously made were noted the next time I went through questions.
What's not so great: The Signature ID text box was still labeled "2015 E-filing PIN" instead of signature ID this is confusing

Can you keep the same answer from before using the Yes or No questions?
What's great about it: Fast, and puts the info where needed
What's not so great: Reclick the Yes or No boxes after already answered them
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy, fast, but still a few minor glitches

I've used TurboTax for a decade. Of course having had dinner with the founder in 1984 means I've been involved since the beginning. I REALLY like the "let me do it in my order" way to go about it without having to do step by step when I don't need it.
The "flag it feature" is great. I usually sit down and do an estimate between Christmas and New Years to make sure I won't get fined for underpayment, then sit back, get the things in "Itsdeductible" and once that's done, taxes take me about 3 hours (includes full itemization, business ownership, etc.)
One nitpick is that some old investments that I entered last year or the year before (partnerships, so K-1 based) showed up on the final return (albeit with zero dollar entries, so it didn't effect anything). But since I didn't have any this year, it never flagged that it had those. Not worth cleaning up, but it would be nice if it would say, "hey, you have these XXX from last year and haven't entered one this year, want to delete" or something like that.
What's great about it: methodical, logical and can do it your own way
What's not so great: some "last year" info keeps showing up (old investments) with no obvious way to delete them
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Maximized my refund!!!

Easily imported all of my wages and almost all of my investments. Those that could not be imported were easy to enter with the question and answer format.
Very easy to enter charitable donations. makes it fun to watch the refund amount go up.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and modify
What's not so great: Some investment brokers are not available for auto download

Pulled a Hat Trick

Sold a house, maintained a rental, managed a tree farm, did a government move overseas, had foreign earned income. Rare that ALL those come up in one year but Turbo Tax never blinked an eye. Been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years now and it's NEVER let me down, no matter what I throw at it. We did our taxes ourselves and we're still speaking to each other! Thanks Turbo Tax
What's great about it: Nothing special. Everything worked seamlessly.
What's not so great: Didn't have any problems.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments, I moved
