Couldn't do taxes without, but still challenging

I had a more complicated return than usual and found that TT didn't really handle the situation the way the IRS indicated in its instructions. It was a 401K Rollover which part went to a traditional IRA and part went to a Roth IRA, but then was recharacterized to a traditional IRA. I was eventually able to put in the information correctly, but it took a lot of work reading IRS publications and figuring out how to make TT match. Otherwise I like the ease of entry, uploading data from banks and all the printing features.
What's great about it: Does all Calculations, Uploads Info, Lots of Help
What's not so great: Have to repeat answers when going back
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Scared to Ellated

It brought my fears of filing to a rest with great satisfaction. As a newer rental property owner it made finding deductions and credits easy. I will definitely be purchasing and filing with intuit TurboTax Deluxe again.
What's great about it: It was very thorough, found credits and deductions I wouldn't have considered
What's not so great: There were a few things that were confusing, but it did have the help pop-ups that resolved most issues.

Inherited IRA & Inherited IRA distrbutions

Questions as to RMD payments are not clear. My mother passed away in Oct 2015, and RMD was done before 12/31/2015 and will be reported on her tax return. The residual retirement account in question was then distributed to me and additional taxes were with held. This IRA was cashed out because it contained very little money left in it.
There wasn't a check box or a question to highlight this fact.
What's great about it: Most sections are clear
What's not so great: 1099R questions are not clear

Excited about the updates within.

Overall, I would give Intuit a 97% rating. Once all ones material is available -- it is a cinch.
What's great about it: It was nice to not know what the amount due or refund was going to be until the end. At that point one can go back.
What's not so great: The RMD was the glitch I had, until I went to 3 different places.

Good, consistent year to year

I've been using Turbo Tax for years; there is very little learning curve each new year. There are moments when you go hunting in Forms to enter certain items because you can't figure out where or when Step By Step will ask for them, though having some patience might avoid that. Still, it works well even if you switch back and forth. I also finally used Import to get some of my forms, and it worked surprisingly well.
One ongoing issue; one of my kids goes to college (that's easy) but also has a part time job, and you have to dig, and dig, to find out the 'rules' of her personal 1040 on how to enter certain income already covered on the family 1040. It would be nice if TurboTax handled that for me somehow.
What's great about it: Fed mostly easy to work
What's not so great: State hides too much of what is going on

Not easy to determine errors
on April 7, 2016

If you have an error on your return there is no easy walk-through. You are taken right to the actual forms with were hidden the entire time you were filling everything out. That is the purpose of TurboTax to make it easy. Why don't you have easy step-by-step walk through for errors?

I've been using Turbo Tax now for several years and it's so much less expensive than going to a tax prepare business.
I've purchased Turbo Tax and Sam's and always get a substantial discount.
My advice it to try it. You can't go wrong. Thanks.
What's great about it: Very easy and finished in less than a few hours.
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments
