A lot of time is spent populating sale dates on all assets when you sell a rental. The program should ask for the sale date once and place it as a default for all other assets.
Also, the land cost selection needs to do all of the math that is required..(Percentage of land cost calculation.
What's great about it: All Tax forms
What's not so great: Needs work under selling a rental
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I found the software, premier, quite helpful for entry data, but in the review of my taxes, it cited a couple of errors and identified them on a form that I wasn't familiar with and hadn't filled out. The tax software had filled in the form with an error. It required much time to eventually get the error corrected.

Have used your product for years and been very pleased. Previous years easy and straight forward to use. Past year ratings would have been 4-5. Only 3 this year. No so easy to find my way around this year. Hope it and I do better together next year. Thanks
What's not so great: navigation difficulty
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Years past it was good but each year it gets less complete and less thorough. Not user friendly---ie starting on line for no good reason and then trying to convert to desk top version. I wanted to do desk top but 2014 desktop program did not lead me to 2015 program so I went on line--that was a disaster--cant even see the forms!!!! Finally had to spend a lot of time on phone with TT assistance to get it straight. Also, tried to remove a credit for taxes paid to another state---3 times--- it kept on including the credit. Thus, I could not efile the state return had to print and mail. I would rather loose the credit and get to efile. ???
What's great about it: got it done
What's not so great: not user friendly---too sparse

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. I do like that it is easy to follow. The only problem I have had in recent years is where to put estimated taxes for the local school district so they flow thru to the School District form and not be added to the state withholdings. It would also be nice if it allowed you to save to a thumb drive and then reload the information to the main program later. I have the information checked and return home to file the info. program seemed confused as to which information to save/use. Otherwise I will continue to use turbo tax.
What's great about it: easy to follow,
What's not so great: confusion with estimated withholdings for local school

TT has very comprehensive assistance in entering tax data, from hints and reminders to formal help and tax law references. As a previous user of professional tax software I can appreciate the easy entry screens and the "plain talk" challenge and reply methods. Thanks TT for the great software.
What's great about it: Choice of entry methods and flexibility
What's not so great: none

The program is easy to use; however, it is easy to miss some steps when guided through the process. Although, if a step is missed it is easy to go back and add the information.
The only significant drawback to the program is the fee for filling the state return.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Cost of efiling state return

Turbo tax provides for many contingencies. It is mostly clear but does not offer an "other" option is places where responses offered do not meet the users situation.
/ I had immense trouble e-filing and kept getting refused e-filing even after following all instructions. Am now making a 4th attempt having got still another PIN. #
What's great about it: inclusive questions to cover almost all matters
What's not so great: does not deal with clergy housing allowance - I could not find it anywhere
