I'm disappointed that I had to buy the Premier version to do my taxes this year. Up to now the Deluxe version was sufficient. I almost considered using another tax software as a result. I know that revenues are important and earnings are everything. However, this particular marketing move almost cost you an otherwise satisfied customer.
I'm still looking for a cost effective alternative to buying Premier.

Very helpful

I've used TurboTax for at least 6 years and have found it very helpful in reducing the effort required to file. I'm able to import most of my tax documents and TurboTax does the calculations and checks the math. I had one problem this year when data input from a 1099-B disappeared from the step-by-step and could only be viewed and edited in the forms view. For whatever reason, this data eventually reappeared in the step-by-step view. I contacted TurboTax help and found it helpful and convenient. It was also somewhat difficult to figure out how to edit imported data in some cases.
What's great about it: Reduces data entry through import, provides guidance, and checks math.
What's not so great: A glitch in the software

Turbo Tax Auto-Download

Turbo Tax automatically enters the 1099 data from my brokerage statements into the correct forms and in the correct places. The first time I used it I wasn't sure about some of the entries so I checked the IRS instructions and found that Turbo Tax was right all along. I still have to review the paper forms for payer state amounts but Turbo TAx calculates the totals and percentages automatically.
What's great about it: Loved downloading 1099 INT and Div information directly
What's not so great: I still have to search documents for payer states

Unable to Import Prior Year TurboTax Information

I was not able to "automatically' import information from prior year Turbo Tax. I consulted the Help feature but it did not give me a solution. I used the same computer I used in prior years. In prior years I did not have to key stroke in certain data fields while working in Turbo Tax such as: personal information or charity names or 1099 sources, etc. This year (2015) I had to enter all the basic information again.
What's great about it: Help features
What's not so great: Help features are incomplete

TurboTax great as always

Have used TurboTax now for at least 12 years. Always easy and satisfied. This is the first year I have e-filed, hope all will be as usual!

The rating of TurboTax remains at a 5star.
What's great about it: For the most part TurboTax is straightforward and easy to use even for beginners.
What's not so great: There are a few blips in the walk through but they are generally visible and easy to correct.
