Not everyone wants to use the online software!

Overall once I got the software downloaded it worked great. Thank you for a good product.
What's great about it: Once I called the number the guy that helped me was GREAT!!
What's not so great: I could not find out how to just buy it and download the software on my PC without calling the 1-800 number.

Doing my taxes wasn't taxing at all -- with TurboT

Not only was the system easy to go through, but there was embedded help at every turn, either in TurboTax or a link to something on-line. The visual experience (user interface) was bright, and important in reducing my stress at doing taxes. I felt I was being guided through the entire process with a personal guide; that's how it felt!
What's great about it: Reduced input to a minimum; excellent help at every step

Most is fine - form 1065 Sched K-1 could be better

In all it's an excellent product, but I'd prefer more more guidance in-line, during form entry-- instead of somewhat cryptic 'corrections/warnings" during form review. The 1065 Sched K-1 from my Ltd partnership was abysmal ... not your fault, but your s/w could offer more flexibility to enter all of the annoying "details". This was my 1st time with that form & schedule. Shame on me for buying a financial instrument that I didn't fully understand.
What's great about it: Typical prep is great
What's not so great: Detailed prep (1065 Sched K-1) need smore flexbility

Over-wrote my return with son's return

Over-wrote my entire return with my childs information when I open my return file to obtain information needed to file a return for my child to claim interest and dividends for that child. Kept the file name but over all of my tax information. This caused me to have to redo the entire process for my taxes which are quite envolved due to investment and Schedule K1's. This was very time consuming. Not sure I will continue to use this product in the future after this.
What's great about it: easy to import investment and interest data
What's not so great: Difficult to delete rental information from previous year that is no longer needed.

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and each time the annual changes in tax laws are worked into the user's process with near seamless results. That makes the process speedy and simple for the non-professional personal preparer. Although I hate tax time, the Turbo Tax process takes the edge off of the work involved.
What's great about it: Simple for the computer illiterate
What's not so great: A little wordie in some places
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Getting the most from Uncle Sam

I have been using turbo tax for the last 10 years. I never had any audits as a result of it. Is a great program for doing my taxes.
What's great about it: it is easy to follow, step by step instructions
What's not so great: a little expensive for a home user
